A matter of taste. Pavarotti is certainly a great tenor but, compared to Del Monaco, (imho) is a bit smaller..... :-)

Second only to Luciano in this! After listening to Pavarotti do this only with piano accompaniment, I really find the symphonic treatment distracting from the great voice.

Thank you for this beautiful recording. This is Del Monaco at his greatest, full of power, passion, and glory. One of the best recordings of this lovely neopolitan art song ever!
