The emperor hunted and killed every jedi in the galaxy except the jedi by his side, afterall Vader was a father, and what father wouldnt save his save in that situation
@GAMERelite134 Me too I remember crying during this scene as a kid before the prequels came out and my dad was like "Why? Darth Vader's evil" I said "No he's not he saved his son and redeemed himself in the end!"
Anakin fulfilled the prophecy by destroying the sith and brought balance and peace back to the galaxy by killing the Emperor. That is why I like Anakin. And I shall not refer to him as Darth Vader.
And so died Anakin Skywalker, called by men Darth Vader, at once the greatest traitor in Jedi history and the most tragic Jedi ever to wield the lightsaber. RIP Anakin. I hope you and Padme have a long life together in Star Wars Heaven
@DucksFromHell Everything must be destroyed so that Everything can be renewed. Individuals as well as planets such as our Earth must periodically be challenged and renewed by FIRE. As in Heaven, so on Earth as Hermes Trismigistus taught us! Our Cosmos wills all things towards final wholeness.
How does the armor burn. I mean, I thought its probably made of some futuristic material that resists fire and probably would melt before it burns. Also, why do the Ewoks think its a good idea to light a fire on wooden platforms. In the trees. With a bunch of branches hanging right over you.
as sad as it is to see Vader died after you know hes a good guy it has to happen follow me here:
by bringing Luke into the world he creates someone to blance out the force, so therefore he (Anakin) is the one who brings blance to the force. Also that he doesn't allow Luke to fall to the dark side (by killing Palpatine) leaves him the one thing the dark side has left and when he dies the dark side is left with nothing. I dunno thats just what I thought anyway
It actually frames the trilogy, it plays, when Luke's adventures start as a boy looking skywards, innocent, knowing nothing of the Force, and it plays, as Luke cremates his once-Jedi father, now as a Jedi himself, looking at the flames as he once looked at the sunset...
@Arthur900 I know what you mean, it's not because he was Luke's father who he only just got back only to loose him straight after. It's because it is the death of the greatest and most awesome character in all of Star Wars, the Dark lord himself. Plus it's also because they are burning an AWESOME suit of armour :P
@Arthur900 I'm a woman, and I've cried to this. I think Vader's redemption and death is one of the most heartbreaking scenes ever filmed. I've cherished these movies ever since I was a little girl, whereas I hated Titanic and thought it was boring and overrated. Star Wars fans come in all ages, races and genders--please don't generalize!
What the hell? he calls himself a light jedi yet hes watching someone burn especially his own father....wow....someones lying obviously.... no remorse either, only fireworks....
@Haknish He watches him burn because it is a funeral. A funeral that nobody else would have given him. It isn't an act of hatred or evil, but an act of honor and respect.
@Haknish That's because a funeral pyre is a symbol of honor and respect from the Greek tradition, not some form of mutilation to a body etc. Go to fucking school. Actually don't. Just stay away from the education system.
This is what I would like my funeral to look like. My son and or daughter lighting my deathbed with fire with my body on it in some peaceful forest of in a galaxy far far away while playing some amazingly peaceful music. But I don't want to rush into that yet, but that's what I expect. :)
See?...this IS exactly what I wan't MY funeral to go like, in a forest, a small, private function, burned on a bonfire by my Son (I don't have a son, so my nephews will have to do, no matter, they ARE both strong with the Force), after they've done me over in some type of sword fight.
this is a touching and solemn that captures the symbolic significance of fire in accordance to Vader's life. It is by fiery lava with which Darth Vader was born and it was with fire that Darth Vader is put to rest. This fire represents the cycle of life and death, and the final completion of the balance of the Force
This title is wrong. This isn't Darth Vader's funeral, it's Anakin's. Darth Vader was a monster who killed innocent people and slaughtered all but a few of the jedi. Anakin was a hero who sacraficed all he had for others. Anakin is honored by this funeral, not Darth Vader.
This is awesome cause it mirrors the scene where Luke comes to see that his Aunt and Uncle have been killed by Stormtroopers and says "I have nothing left here now". When he get's to know his father and not Darth for the brief amount of time, there is an emotion felt through Luke. These bittersweet goodbyes are so meaningful.
In the flames that marked the death of Anakin Skywalker and burned his body, Darth Vader was born. It is in those same flames that Darth Vader died and Anakin was reborn.
A close friend of mine died about 6 months ago and this theme was played at his funeral. Then at the wake we sang and danced to Yub Nub just as he wanted.
