starfield does it very good although it is keyed lower from C to A. its not important anymore atleast they have a big heart to sing praises to our Lord Almighty God.. God bless to all of us.. Good work!!!
I love Starfield's heart of worship. I was at Frenzy yesterday and they led really well, especially when Tim opened up to having struggles through the week. It made me realise I'm not alone in struggles like Satan wants me to think, infact, lots of people go through the same thing! God bless this band.
its not how good you play or sing but its when you put your heart in it and trust in God for He only can do perfect things with you... God bless to all!!!
cellmate, just make sure that if you believe you are speaking the truth, you speak it in love (ephesians 4:15). so yeah, your opinion is your opinion, but saying somebody "suxs" is not something Jesus would condone.
you have good words, perhaps i should have word it not as strong. I'm just tire of young people listen this bash the older guys of a previous generation of musician saying that we sux and starfied is the 'end all and be all' of worship. So the comparison begins, and if it's out of artistic merit, it's not close. I don't think Jesus would accept half hearted musicianship either.
I'm not saying that anyone in the band is not doing their best or are. If that's the person's best then that's it. Done, topic closed. What matter's is that you truly put your heart to doing things you are dedicated to do for God and putting your heart means doing the best. I like to sing but I truly am "not that good". But at least I am not goofing off when I sing a praise and worship song. I could honestly say that doing the best doesn't have to be equal with the other's or others' best.
Quite frankly, we shouldn't only do anything, but we should do it as best as we could. Because you already accepted God doesn't mean that you are now allowed to goof off or avoid doing the best for something. It's like saying "Hey, I have accepted God. Now I'm gonna be saved and I will absolutely do nothing because I know I will succeed." Bad news for you mate because it's not like that. Doing good deeds alone may not save you, but doing them is evidence that you have truly accepted God.
go listen to real drummers like Eric Moore, Teddy Campbell of American Idol band. Zoro...they're all Christian drummers who make a living as professionals. Listen to their music and you find worship within excellence...you can't get "excellence from Starfield and David Crowder". You cannot get steak and lobster from Macdonalds, and they're both 'food' but we are talking about quality..so if you took Jesus out for dinner as your guest, where would you go?
the problem with youth worship, it's not the plank or the log that has to be taken out, it's the whole SAWMILL. Read carefully, we are NOT to judge NON believers with biblical criteria. People are quick to quote 'not to judge' but read further. Also maybe they're are giving their best, and if the best is still lousy [musically], then let's call a spade a spade and not make them into "worship gods" like they're not. I'd say the same for David Crowder too.
i have to say that God does care that we give it our best, and when we do that and honor God, we will practice and learn, then, the best will come out. Lots of guys don't even touch their instruments for a month before they have to play worship. Some guys who are making money playing so poorly are indeed a disgrace to the name and the profession. I play as a professional musician, and i play cruiseships, what Starfields drummer is playing..it's not good. my beginner students are better.
to vezza94: The reason that new christian bands are so weak in skill is because they're sold out to the belief that " it's worship, it doesn't require professionlism and practice" God accepts 'any kind" of worship. If you buy into what vezza is saying, then christian material will remain shallow and lifeless. Watch a drummer like Vinnie Caliauta, he's a Christian, does he play like crap when he plays? NO. Does Eric Moore and american idol drummer who is a believer play this crappy? NO
im a guitar player, but im just saying that God doesnt care how or how good we are at our musicians, he cares that we are worshipping him in the first place. that is all he cares about. i do agree that he deserves the best. but thats ot necesarilly what he wants.the drummer is probably giving his all, and thats all that God wants, is for us to try.
ur missing the whole point. he's playing for god, and god accepts any form of worship. besides, thats just your opinion. kjeep your negativity to yourself. you dont like his drumming? then dont watch the video
missing the point? playing for God requires the best in us, don't you think God deserves the best. Obviously you're not much of a musician. It's an opinion amongst some of us finer drummers. The negativity is within the product that put out by these guys in 'terms of drumming', didn't say their lyrical content was bad. Hey, without watching the video, it would be wrong of me to comment how bad it really is on a whim, wouldn't it? And his is a basher and thrasher, no talent at all.
You're really missing a lot of points regarding edification of brethren through your tongue. We are indeed instructed to play skillfully. That means, use the gifts given, and cultivate and shape the gift given to make it as skillful as possible, not comparing it to others' gifts. Assuming someone's failing at that based on a youtube video of a performance is assuming a lot. Be weary of that. They're much more talented musicians than corporate worship music (simplistic in nature) reveals.
eloquent words, and i do thank you for the response. I took the time to see them at their concert in BC at the church where the floor collapsed. Again, from visual and audio experience, the performance was not worthy of the ticket price. The product was poor. So 'assumption' would not be the word to describe my opinion. I was present for the very poorly presented show.
LOL lucky ! i couldn't even find a seat xDD so i had to be in the front , thank goodness i have connections and i was able to use my friends' seats to put my stuff on =D
