SO you are awsome. Not to be a dick, but the one time u take ur camera to the lighthouse for ur blog u DON't go uP! :( that's ok, i guess i'll have to see it for myself one day, hoepfully
There are a lot of videos on YouTube about living/visiting Japan made by native English speakers, since there are many people from English speaking countries that are interested in Japan.
Japanese people take lots of photos and video too - trust me. :)
But Japanese vloggers haven't embraced YouTube in the same way us Westerners have - yet. :D
ahhh - ok. Hmmm... not sure. Are there more vids about Japan than about Korea or China or the nations of Africa, etc? Perhaps, simply because many North Americans are obsessed with anime and manga and Japanese culture, so there is a ready audience for our videos. It's an interesting question... :D
That's a great composition of yours. It's good to see that your work is improving with the use of editing. I hope the new JETs do well there. Take care Jason.
Hm... you might want to work a little on sound coordination, hacking off sound bits to start the next interrupts the mood. I think it's better to have some soothing/fitting instrumental soundtrack in the background instead of a song.
Hey dude, nice video once again - editing and everything. I'm jealous of that corner of Japan. I have to take a proper vacation and do a road trip out that way sometime.
I like the typing...having something at the end of videos is good.
Where did most of the lighter music come from...a lot of it felt like it was from some videogames. I didn't think you played many videogames if any...but the music sounded similar.
ignoring all that copyright jibber-jabber, I just pull tracks off my iTunes that I like and fit the vid. Most of the lighter music is just instrumental sections of current Jpop songs, by groups like Arashi, HY and Greeeen.
Very cool video. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I also like the little figurines. It's pretty cool you got to be there during a historical moment to be able to see something not a lot of people get to see in their lifetime. They're lucky to have ya to show them around and have fun.
Nice vlog, I hope to see more of the town and the care and training of the new JETs! :) When I first arrived on JET, there were no renewers close to me, only fellow newbie JETs, so we had to learn the local area ourselves (though 2nd yr JETs did show us other parts of the ken). Ashley, Eric, and Lauren are lucky to have you there! Hope they have a great time in Japan!
I think you might have your next job lined up for you. A gaijin tour guide. I have a picture of the stone tori gate that I'm using for a tattoo. I've always wondered where it was and now I know.
It's funny how much I don't even "hear" those sounds when I'm out and about, but when I was editing this piece together I couldn't help but hear how loud they are in the background.

Is this only my imagination, there are far more videos about Japan either taken by people living there or visiting?

I'm not sure I understand your question...

myargonauts: "I'm not sure I understand.."
My question was compare to the amount of videos at other places taken by people foreign to those places.
Is Japan getting more attention than others?

Nice video as always. Nice song too. The lyrics to that Colin Hay song is simple yet has such a profound message.

Yeah - Colin is the MAN! I can't recommend his CDs highly enough!

Thanks for another vlog, it is good to see the "real" japan once in a while and not something that is too heavily media biased.

Actually, I'm looking to start up an English School and I will need motivated teachers.

lucky guys!are the paintings awesome?is there one of these three got homesick already?and are they teaching at your school?;3
DarkNekoStudio 3 years ago
Each new ALT is given their own schools to teach in, so we don't share schools, but we all live fairly close to each other.
The paintings are indeed impressive, as is the inner shrine building itself.

u need a better outro, the "jason in japan" with the typing sounds is boring imo, but nice video besides that.

ok - I kinda like the typing thing, but I'll try to think up something cooler. :)

I like the typing thing. It's what you do at the end of these videos, it's a trademark. Keep it the way it is. =)

Wicked vBlog jason, are the new JETS in your schools? Again, cool to see that great area you live in.
Graehaus 3 years ago
JETs almost never share schools, but these three new ALTs all live in my area, called Izumo.
myargonauts 3 years ago
;-; so awesome!
Did you know any of these JETS through youtube before they came to Japan? o_o
And will they be doing vlogs? o.o I hope one of the girls make a vlog, not many girls make vids in Japan ._.
KuroBourjois 3 years ago
many of the new JETs I've met so far said they did in fact watch my vids before they arrived, so that was really nice
