  • when africa gets united..im pack my sht an going back.i dont care how rich the us is i d rather be in my home land with ppl that have my better interest.

  • When Africans themselves decide- maybe divide the continent into 5 or 7 large countries based roughly on geographical/cultural regions. This would then serve as the base for a new more focused African Union. Larger, fewer countries would be able to use the natural resources more efficently.

  • Well i like your arguement, but Sudan was the first to got it indepent from British in 1951 than Ghana, but Western world use people, Ghana had non in the region of Africa, what role hey talk play in Africa! The war of today in this world is about resouces, Ghana have non in Africa! But to me, it doesnt matter, we all Africans, Im not proud about our independent as Sudanese or as a black! It was our weak to let this people to our land!

  • Shalom - how about we as a people rise from all corners of the globe (blackman & woman) to take back whats rightfully ours (africa) - we need to demand for our own Political Government, schools, jobs, Army, Laws, Churches, Kings & queens & ect .... with the help of every participant this could be done in an orderly fashion, even if that means going to war against the opressor, please help spread the message - shalom i salam salakem (allthingsnew) 2012

  • Taking the baton from the likes of the illustrious W.E.B DuBois, the father of Pan Africanism and the great architect of the civil rights movement and George Padmore, another great Pan Africanist...

  • Africa (kemet) should be discussed by Africans (kemet) period these people have nothing to do with it.

  • the idea of super powers is outdated and it is a history rprating itselfe also a doore tonew colonisatione of africa by europeanes case in point LIBYA

  • iam very sure african leaders will take the resources of the unione and rejecte handing over sovrighnity out righte

  • i think Africa should unite but not unite like america they should just work together as individual nations as one black voice for better africa all across u dig and why the hell is he talkin to a bunch of white folk about Africa?

  • i think Africa should unite but not unite like america they should just work together as individual nations as one black voice for better africa all across u dig

  • Africa has enough resources to fund anything they want ---the only thing we need is to control the resources ourselves instead of letting outsiders control them

  • how the hell can they be talking about the idea of a single african government when the issue of the arab invasion and colonization of northern africa has not been dealt with. the millions of blacks there [who ARE the original people] still have to deal with what the rest of africa had to deal with during the european invasion period.

  • @HERU0000 African Blacks will never be free until The white Arab muslims are made to leave North Africa.

African Blacks must retake Kemet (egypt) and the Sudan first to secure our ancient heritage of recognition.

  • @HERU0000 There has to be a single African Union ( Not Government ) the Governments of all African states are in discussions to be connected continent wide. The African Union which is already underway by the way takes account of the fact there was Arab and European INFLUENCES a long time ago now, it has nothing to do with the new progress today. Sudan is already dealing with that issue by separating Arab North from Black South afetr its very long Civil War!

  • @HERU0000 Right on my Brother. Africa will never be free until all White Arab Muslim influence has been

totally eradicated from the African continent .

  • LOL What a joke! The future of Africa, being discussed by a MOSTLY non-black audience.

Looks just like the white imperial conferences the Europeans used to have during the 18th and 19th centuries, when they were busy carving Africa up.

BTW, among the many names these 18th/19th century lunatics gave to thei imperial confabs was "The future of Africa,:

The times may change but white people do not!

  • My greatest concern is that clearly the Chinese are carrying on this precedent of agents, posts and settlements being legitimate to clain the wealth of the region regardless of the Africans...

  • One Africa is a serious threat to the west. But the pressure from China is on which is now Africas major trading partner not Europe or the U.S. In the years to come Africa will become one. As Abraham Lincoln said "A house divided cannot stand". Why do you think the Europeans cut up Africa into different nations dividing the continent.

  • You can not be more true my brother, you can not be more true. I've been saying that for years and to hear someone else say it makes me realize I'm not the only one that knows.

  • @DIJV79 Pardon me, I realise this comment is three months old. But Africa was already divided before the European colonialism of the 19th century, just with different borders.

  • @erinra Africa was divided as far as tribes and cultures. It wasn't divided by borders, just like South America their were know borders before Europeans arrived. Borders are a eurocentric concept.

  • @DIJV79 Very true, I'd like to argue though: the strict map border system that we've come to know is very eurocentric, but borders of various kinds have always existed. As you said, tribes demanded territories; these were not easily trespassed. A neutral zone would exist between territories; in pre-mapping times, these were generally considered borders. I doubt that colonialism divided Africa (excl geographically). If anything, it has pulled Africans closer together like the WWs did with Europe.

  • @erinra You doubt colonalism divided Africa! WRONG Africa is still recovering from the effects of european colonization. Blacks in the America's are still recovering from the effects of slavery and colonization and as far as Europe goes their in some serious trouble concerning demographics and the E.U is buckling at the seems due to weaker countries in the E.U like Spain and Greece.

  • @DIJV79 (1) The effects of the World Wars, colonialism and revolutions all around the globe are undeniable. I am adressing the cultural division between states in Africa. Before the WWs, Europe was a cultural and political battle ground: each nation wanted to be the best at everything. The wars came and left, and all of Europe was left in ruins. The nations now shared a common goal and united in order to achieve it together. The same can be applied to Africa.

  • @DIJV79 (2) Then again, I won't deny that colonialism broke alliances between tribes (and clans within the tribes). However, it also forged new alliances where it saw fit.

Let's not forget that tribalism is very prominent in Africa and has been for thousands of years. Don't blame everything on the Europeans: they saw the divide and took advantage of it; they didn't actually create it.

  • @erinra Tribalism is their system you have know right to change some ones way of life, wheather you agree with it our not. European colonization caused more harm then it did good. It damaged Africans in the Americas for decades to come, it will take decades to erase the damage that has been done. There was no need for colonization, our systems where quite effective and more humane before any white settlers are slave traders came.

  • @DIJV79 Where there are social groupings, there are divisions and borders. Where there are divisions, there are conflicts. It's the rule of our species. That was the point. I haven't once said that colonisation didn't do any destructive damage or that the tribal societies in Africa weren't effective and needed to be changed. You are attacking straw men here.

Unrelated: You said "our systems...". Where are you from? What are your views on the creation of a united Africa, discussed in this video?

  • @DIJV79 you are right, colonisation destroyed our stability.

  • Since when did Muammar Qadhafi become progressive? Isn't he a dictator? Aren't most of those Africans he mentions already crossing borders actually fleeing civil wars and corrupt governments?

  • Thanks fo this lecture, very insightfull !!!! Me as a Moroccan berber african feel that the african renaissance once propelled will give our continent a fresh new perspective upon our power and potential as the people of Africa and as world citizens.........

  • I don't think the "United States of Africa" would be in the best interests of all Africans. South Africa, Nigeria, Botswana, and Gabon would control all the affairs in economy, and Africa is FAR too diverse for a union of africa to happen...however, look up East African union, that looks good enough

  • A clearcut explanation of what & how Africa was captured ande keep enslaved.

  • people criticizing this that Africans seeking to unite is not a new phenomena.... imo some form of unity must take place in order to combat european, arab, chinese, etc. hegemony...i don't necessarily agree with turning the entire continent into one country, but some form of unity must take place...and when I speak of unity, I don't mean it in a "utopian" sense...dubois, malcolm, and martin bridging connections with nkrumah = one example of unity.

  • A united States of Africa modelled on USA and Europe...I really question the integrity and motivation of people who are advancing this nonsense.

500 years of oppression and exploitation and we are now thinking like the enemy.

Adorning African regalia but an unAfrican mindset.

  • Strawmansbiz Got it 100%

  • as an african myself i support mr Molefi Asante movemnt but i don't trust some of the arabs up north,if you look at Sudan the Muslims (Arabs) killing and trying to get rid of Christians

  • I Personally Don't Trust The Motive Behind A "United States Of Africa" Who Stands To Benifit Most The People Or A Select Few Elitsts?

  • This Is Bull We Deon't Need A United States Of African We Need Europeans and The Corprate Oppressors To Go Home And Leave Nubia (Africa) Alone For Good!!!!! This Mans Wants Nubia And Her People In The New World Order Of BullShit Save It We Don't Want It!!! Oppressors Go Back To Your Caves, Go Home!!!!!!!!!!

  • How can we do this without uniting Africa and the diaspora all over the WORLD!

  • You can unite ppl w/out making them into one country, Africa was never a nation but it always stood together

  • .....I want to get involved in this ....This is the future of black people

  • Great video. Very insightful.

  • when this has taken place? It seems that we have got back since the 2000's."they fought for nationhood along the wrong lines(...)created states that have been uplined by the Europeans".You African American are more optmistic than us African.

  • speak for your self.

    great video...

  • Africans in the Diaspora are optimistic about our motherland, we want to help develop it and see it grow, we love Africa and want to see it prosper. I don't consider no one living on the continent more African than I am. We can be equally African but not more than the other, despite what continental Africans think about us in the diaspora, I am dedicated to making a positive society not only for my brothers and sisters on but always off the continent.

  • Well, one of the problem with some african-american is this idea of thinking that they gonna go in Africa to HELP africa, you see if you think this way you ain't going nowhere because in the bottom line Africa is what is suppose to uplift you !

Yes africa have many problems but we can fix it quickly with a good political will, I have no doubt. I agree with you that as an african descent you can and should demand your african heritage as an national of all African countries too.

  • Well I really don't see whats wrong with helping people but I aint no African American. I know how some AA's act. But it is not all of them that act like they are the saviors god sent to save Africa from it's problems. I instead only desire that more Africans of the world can become wealthy and be accepted on a equal playing field with all peoples of the world. I am one who believe in a United world with no more countries. but that will be far away. peace brother and have a nice day.

  • accquiring wealth doesn't equate to respect from white people...unfortunately....wish it was that easy

  • Thank you very much for posting this video.

  • great lectue but Sudan broke out before Ghana in 1956..

  • Great Lecture, Thanks very much

  • It's not a united Nubia That would be the problem in my view it's the organisational structure and how does a united Nubia (Africa) fit into the "New World Order" A United Africa May Cause Our People To Loose More Than Gain Especially In Regard To Having ControlOf Natural Resources Resources What Is The Education Standard To Be Certainlly Something Dictated By Oppressive People Is Not What Mother Nubia Needs.
