  • 2:56 and so started head first sliding.

  • were they not allowed to use the real "take me out to the ball game?"

  • Notice the bicycle track running around the playing field!

  • @hereuphony that would be the warning track... not a bike track -__-

  • Awesome! Such good film quality, too!

  • I always wanted to see what it was like on the field of the ORIGINAL, original Yankee Stadium. Thanks Buster Keaton for all the views and camera angles! Why couldn't they have just kept that stadium the way it was! Such a classic, and one of a kind ball park!

  • Yankee stadium was still brand new. Damn did that ballpark change. Sad to see it go.

  • Outstanding..rare footage of the ballpark from its earliest days.

  • incredible!

  • clapclapclap!!!!

  • Magnificent! Funny, I showed some of the Americans on our crew Buster's last two films he made in Canada in the late 60's - The Railrodder and I can't remember the other title, but the making of the Railrodder - he was well into his 70's and a bit sodden, but still had the magic. Thanks for that!

  • That run around the bases is truly for the ages...

  • Wow! Incredible footage here of Yankee Stadium in its brand new version before they expanded the triple decks to right then leftfields, and got rid of the aptly and cleverly named "bloody angles".

  • This sounds like Take Me Out To The Ball Game

  • @Ahuebner2004 - The music is surely meant to evoke the song, which was only like 20 years old at the time and probably still owned by somebody (and maybe it still is) so that they couldn't use it outright without paying royalties

  • I bet Buster Keaton could've hit .300 in the majors if he wanted to.

  • This is one of my favorite scenes from one of my very favorite movies. Pure magic. Buster Keaton was a genius. Wonderful to see Yankee Stadium as it was in the glory days of Ruth, Gehrig et al. Sad to say, the old ballpark will soon be gone. Thank you for posting this!
