Thank You so very much "GOLDGUEGI" for posting very much appreciated! I would much rather see him continue on these artistic skate shows then to ever go back to competition skate. The guy is to artistic to be put into a position for competing were there forced to perform so many elements an strict rules, may as well put him in a small box, or small patch of ice in that case. Keep On Kicken It Stephane!
Can he even come back to competition is he wanted to? Or did ISU basically banned him for good, I wonder? Seems ridiculous pro NBA players can compete in Olympics but figure skaters are held to different standard.
@MsMichiganian No, Lambiel is not going to come back to competition. That phase is finished for him. He is enjoying his artistic freedom, skating in shows and choreographing for other skaters now. I think he doesn't do this for competition, but rather for himself - to challenge himself and prove(to himself) that he is still capable of doing such difficult jumps and other things.
@iceskaterrn Most likely, this has nothing to do with Nebelhorn Trophy. I think, it was just a coincidence, and Stephane was simply practising in Oberstdorf as he has often done. From what I know, many skaters practise at that ice rink during summer and early autumn.
@iceskaterrn As you probably know by now, Stephane was at the Nebelhorn trophy to present the awards (including the trophy itself - or however it's called) to the winners - I simply didn't know that when I wrote my previous post. But in the interview there Stephane also told that he has been training in Oberstdorf this summer, as I already thought. So, most likely he arrived there a few days earlier, and took the chance to practice at the rink again.
@boguswoman81 Stéphane was in Oberstdorf to practice his programs for Opera on Ice in Verona (also with Carolina Kostner) and to watch NHT. As you already wrote he awarded the trophies to the medalists (only men). This video was taken in the evening of 22 September 2011.

@sangfroidjen In my opinion he is banned for good (but who understands the ISU-rules?), but I don't think he wants to compete again.

Wow!!
I hope he would come back to competition.
It will be awesome to see the mature performances from those experienced skaters with the fresh performances by the young skaters in Sochi.
Thank you fo rsharing.

@boguswoman81 I understand Steph has retired, but can you tell me why he was at the Nebelhorn on the ice teasing us like that?
