What a melancholic Allemande, almost like a dance at a funeral procession.

It isn't the interpretation that turns me off, but it's the artificial echo effects that were used to create the feel that were unwarranted.

Bach is not known for his lullabies - neither was this intended as one.

It is performed too slow - so that it's all just a big vibrato lullaby.

A slow motion parody of Bach. But if it's your favorite, that's all fine

and dandy, but you shouldn't be so convinced that you actually

like Bach.

Give Grumiaux's version a try too.

@Eirik175 It's too slow for you, but that doesn't mean it's too slow. I enjoy Bach played faster as well, but I also enjoy hearing different interpretations. If everyone played it the same there would be no point in listening to more than one version.

Sorry, neither captures the spirit of this beautiful and at times even haunting allemande, nor does it reflect the genius Bach has woven into it.

This is a good example for the advanced violinist of how NOT to present this piece.

maybe a tad too slow? it's hot and heavy. check gil shaham's version, i think his crisper and lighter version is also nice

oh I love how she takes it slow and cherrishes each note...I prefer this piece at this tempo. Plus, it helps me a lot cuz I'm trying to learn it :)

The piece is played much slower than the norm. However, I like this interpretation also. There is so much expression and character on each note. Thanks for posting such a unique version!

She has such a lovely sound, but a tad slow? Allemande is a dance, and this is not quite dance tempo. The tone is a little heavy for Bach, a little lighter or airy and it would be perfect!

this is how this piece should not be played but at the same time how it should be played. It's an allamande so it should be played probably twice as fast but it's much much better this way :)

@opheliackirsche13 I generally like Hillary Hahn's interpretations, and I don't want to put down anyone who likes this interpretation. But my comment is that you could never *dance* an Allemande to this. An Allemande is pretty slow, but nowhere near this slow. I agree that this interpretation has a lot of expression, I find that it drags.
