Great video.these remedies definitely work, i had a clogged sink about a month ago and i only had vinegar and salt and to my surprise they worked faster and better than liquid plummer. i live in a high rise apartment and lets just say that maintenance is not all it should be with preventive maintenance.
This could not have come at a better time!! I'm going through this right now and constantly battling my hubby over clogged sinks and him doing the slip and slide in the shower. I've tried the vinegar and baking soda and it didn't work. I also tried Dawn, someone suggested but that didn't work. I'm going to revisit the baking soda/vinegar combo along with the plunging technique, to see if it'll work. Thanks for posting!
@kwll35 - My pleasure. I hope it works out for you. If you do clear it up, you can also pour 1/2 cup of bleach down all your drains at night before bedtime 1x a month to maintain. The bleach helps keep the pipes smooth (It leaves a slippery residue on the pipes) so that the debris will slide down easier.
I use this as a proactive measure to keep my drains cleaned using the baking soda/vinegar with boiling hot water as soon as it seems that water is draining out too slowly, and I can vouch that it works. I've never had to call a plumber for clogged drains for this 15 year old house. I would say that I might have to do this for the most used drains about once a year. So glad you didn't have a more serious problem.
Can you tell me what role the salt plays when mixed with the baking soda? I know the baking soda makes a fizz but I am unsure about the salt. I just dealt with a clogged pipe too but I just removed the p-trap and removed the rice. Who knew that rice swells in your pipes. LOL!!! I'm going to follow your recommendations for monthly precaution.
Amen to your last sentence... I am so happy you were able to unclog your sink. Thank you so much for sharing. Always very kind and helpful of you. I have been very diligent as to NOT let hair go down my sink or tub... when I shower I use the hair catch thingy that kt sells and in my sink i have removed that cap and replaced it w something similar to also catch the hair. A clogged sink is no good!!
@ab82510 - Thank you. *Smile* You are definitely right on track with the hair sink strainers in your sink, I also need to do that as well, especially with a teen in my house who clogged up sink #1. :) Thanks for sharing.
Yes there is a God and he told you to to this vid for somebody like me!!! Thank you Sis. I am a homeowner too and this helped me greatly too. Bless you. Your hair is beautiful by the way.
@mpenny226 - I'm so glad to hear that. It is my pleasure to share anything that I feel can help someone else, especially my curlfriends. Glad to be of help. Thank you for your comment & your support.
@BreukelensFinest - LOL... Thank you! The internet is such a priceless medium, I just appreciate it so much and God (who I believe definitely has a sense of humor) always steers me in the right direction.
@spo1ledbratbaby - Wow, For Real!! You poor thing. Well, I guess you already know how well this works. *Smile* Thanks for commenting and I hope it can help you with your plumbing one day.
@llatresej - IDK, either. :) It sounds like the perm kit would cause erosion damage to your pipes since it is a chemical. This version will not, it's better for your pipes. Thanks for sharing though, you never know what people have on hand during an emergency.
I had this problem recently and I sure did think about this video and it sure did work, after a couple of tries. Thanks!
