How fantastic! Well done!! Any chance the Petts Wood store near Bromley could be taken over and open as a Wellworths? It's still empty and is the store where the last bag of original Pick 'N Mix came from which sold for £14,000
Claire and team fantastic well done. Wellies Rock!! Band playing live in background at opening were great. Infrasky, i just googled to their myspace, someone sign'em up they had a really good sound!
Claire Robertson deserves a medal. With all the bad news on TV and people loosing jobs everyday, its nice to see something good coming out of the ashes of Woolworths. Good luck Wellworths! Thanks for posting this bit of "good news"! Well Done to the 20 employees for supporting Claire and making this possible. If Claire can do it, why can't more of us do this!!!
Thanks NisbetMedia for recording this. Im putting it on my blog for posterity ! Well done Claire Robertson for taking such an entrepreneurial step - I hope the people around Dorch will give it support, as I hope they will with all the independent traders who are struggling for their livelihoods.
After youve shopped, do come & visit our coffeeshop in Tudor Arcade, next to Waitrose. Were serving probably the best coffee in Dorset. Really appreciate it !
Thanks for your comment - yes feel free to embed it in your blog. I hadn't intended to film it but I was just so staggered to see so many TV crews in Dorch. Chris Evans was really friendly, holding babies, posing for snaps, giving autographs. They couldn't have better publicity.
I was in Dorch this morning at work [ Oxfam on South Street; come and visit! ] and it was absolute chaos in town. Massive congratulations to Claire though!
this is my local 'woolies' which is obviously now wellworths! its fantastic to see such a wonderful woman doing such a wonderful thing for my town. She is a very brave person and her idea has worked, It was packed all day and if u ask me its better than woolworths! alot more to choose from and alot less clutter around the store! well done claire and i would reccomend everyone coming and having a look at this great achievement!!!
It will not last old woolworths failed. No C.D's or DVDs!

Hmmm... an anonymous chairman with hat and shades - not entirely convincing I'm afraid. But if you need any help with publicity, let me know!

Well done that lady for not just giving up.
Now all we need is other old wollworths managers in other towns and cities to do the same and it will be just the way it was.
I miss woolworths.
