  • Great job Chuck,

I am growing both the Stupice and Early girl. I am curious into how many side shouts per variety you had in this video.

  • I assume you mean Side shoots...

I stared to let them come on strong in Mid august because of our Intense heat and Sun.

But the plants were pruned severely early on.

    Look at this years' videos

  • Thanks Chuck. I like the mini ranch idea. Something that I am thinking about doing to supplement a teachers income. My second job would be mini farming.

  • I grew Stupice last year and they did great.

  • Chuck,

Would you tell us or spell the name of the russian "sapeachy" tomatoes, I can't find them anywhere or on the web. Any other big varieties you like would help.

  • The Variety is Stupice and a Google search will show plenty..enjoy!

  • I saw it in your info after I posted sorry. Are you going to be doing a new series for this year? I hope so, I'm doing 5 varieties this year, next year I will try you Stupice and Glacier.

  • I have posted a few updates this year ON PRUNING

  • i plant beefsteak tomatoes, and early girl. is beefsteak the best kind?

  • Beefsteak is a good standby Variety,. The Early is a bit more prolific and produce a nice usable size tomato.

I enjoy Both Varieties with a preference to Early Girl because we eat tomatoes in hand a lot and their size is a couple nice bites

  • Great job Chuck. I´m also a veteran who used to plant tomatoes years ago and am now interested in getting back in action. I´ve seen dozens of other videos, but your series definitely is the best. .

  • my tomatoes in northern indiana only lived from late May to early August because our weather sucks, and we had 12 inches of rain that made my tomatoes die.

  • nice vid! if you want to edit more, and have windows you can use windows movie maker in the start> allprogram> windows movie maker its got help sections ans auto things to help ,but you tube has some limited editing funtions too.

  • You would get a good laugh out of my garden!

  • Hey, Chuck. This is organichris from Tomatoville. Sorry I have neglected keeping up with your project. I had some computer issues. But man have I been impressed! To see those plants get so big and put on so many tomatoes after being pruned in such an "extreme" manner is very amazing. Even if you don't make 1000 pounds you have done above what I could have imagined.

  • Thanks, Chris. Are you still going to need Lacewings?
