  • I made the donuts and fried them but they didn't look like donuts when I fried them and they tasted like funnel cake

  • @Peachsnapple75 hhhmmmm...interesting. My version looked like doughnuts, not funnel cakes.

  • When u cut out the donuts and wait for them to plump up do u cover them

  • @Peachsnapple75 nope ;-p

  • notice he used the same clip for the 1/4 stick of butter

  • On a scale from 1-10 how close do these taste to krispy kreme donuts?

  • @EmoBiggachu maybe an 8? ;-p

  • "I promise not to tell a soul" >:D

  • WTF 89 for a Krispy Kreme in UK it is like $1.50 for one unfair

  • Lol I'm a donut maker!

  • you are the man!

  • You see the machine at 0:32 that spits the donuts into the fryer really fast? Its also shooting a burst of air into the dough right before it hits the hot oil, creating the light fluffiness of KK's donuts. Without that machine, you will never be able to clone these donuts.

  • @bobkelso4245 Looks to wet to take any air...mine were fluffy because of yeast ;-p

  • The consistency was wrong

  • @Peachsnapple75 It worked for me ;-p

  • U suck!!!!!

  • @Peachsnapple75 Anything in particular that sucks, or just a general suckiness ;-p

  • I tried this and the dough Is to soft can u tell me what i did wrong

  • @Peachsnapple75 It's okay to have soft dough, it firms up when fried.

  • How much yeast

  • @Peachsnapple75 My blog gives you the amounts of everything so check it out, link in the description above ;-p

  • Donuts make me think of kindergarden. I remember we would all stare at the donut maker at amasement.

  • i miss krispy kremes in my area now i have to travel 4 states either way to get one

  • Question:

    Could I make Jelly doughnuts with this recipe?

    Thanks for sharing this recipe by the way! ; )

  • @danie95 I'm sure you could - don't make donut holes. The donuts are filled with air pockets. Just fill 'er up after they are fried?

  • How much is a stick of butter? Eyeballing it, it looks around the width and height of a 500g block quartered lengthwise, but you didn't start with a whole stick. Assuming it's a similar length, and translating to american units that would be a quarter pound to the stick?

  • @TheMwangel about 113 grams, according to my Google search ;-p

  • @TheMwangel From what the video actually shows - he's NOT using a 1/4 STICK of butter (and yes, in the US a lb of butter comes in four 1/4 lb sticks) - BUT is instead using a TSP 'pat' of butter . . . if you look at a wrapped stick, it is measured out in tsp. The glaze he made looks like he actually used about 2 tsp . . . obviously a 1/4 stick is the WHOLE thing/ 1 stick out of the 4

  • i love donuts yuuuuumyyyy

  • I really liked how simple and original you were throughout. I'll definitely try this out.

  • there is no need to knead the dough?

  • @danix30001 Not much, just enough to mix well and form a dough ball ;-p

  • Thanks for your time to share how to make donuts.. !!!

  • Why would you want someone to give you the secret formula and no one else? You are selfish!

  • @Satoshi9801 I "say" I won't share -- how else would I sucker someone to give me the secret? ;-p

  • Hello! Sir thank you so much for very wonderful recipe! its totaly delicious!!!!

    ~~~Cris from Phlippines
  • Krispy Kreme uses yeast ;)
  • @the99centchef Hi, when you covered the dough for an 1 hour, did you put it in the refrigerator during that time?
  • @hollyannewesley no refrigeration needed ;-p
  • @the99centchef Oh Ok Thanks.
  • @hollyannewesley Usually when raising yeast it is better to be room temp or warmer. Somepeople will even raise their dough in a warm oven.
  • @CaliGirlReviews Oh thanks good to know.
  • @CaliGirlReviews thanks ;-p
  • i love him he is amazing
  • @3838dot I love my visitors too!  ;-p
  • PRETTY GOOD! Pretty Damned Good boy! I have to say I have watched a few on makin' d'nuts and do a lot of cookin in areas of pastries and in braising (main dishes) so consider myself 'select/discrete in who/what I value and "I like this video!" I grew up on K.K.d'nts, Sat. morns, and you gave a valiant attempt to ANY donut maker, a great recipe!(especially on a shoestring budget, and cramped quarters to boot) Now I say as novice Pastry Chef, A Chef is a Chef that can cook & critic cannot!
  • @TheGullifer thanks for the props Gullifer !
  • I love yr video, I use to live on Vernon and 8th and would walk to that shop all the time and go to the Mall across the street. ;-)
  • O.O!! White people go to the ghetto? I know they have Krispy Creme in west LA (just teasing a fellow Los Angelino)
  • It's sad that there's no Krispy Kreme here in Arizona anymore. Even so, I lived about 7 miles away from it anyway.
  • I assume you used donuts to film this video?
  • @maseraticrg just the one I bought in the drive-thru window ;-p
  • @the99centchef haha just kidding. =) I'm gonna try this soon! thanks for the recipe!
  • cream is the seacret key
  • @2002lambo what kind of cream?  ;-p
  • Krispy Kream makes THE BEST doughnut..
  • @blindcat007 Next to Tim Hortons you mean.
  • I say u r now asain because we asains are very cheap so yeah being asain is awesome -_-
  • @MrYoshiPet If Mexican/American is Oriental in some way, then I am proud to belong ;-p
  • hi MrNiceBuns83, my blog has a conversion "to grams" link -- as for weight, your guess is as good as mine, I don't weigh ingredients. About 459.84 grams equals 2 cups flour ;-p
  • @ the99centchef Hi there can you please tell me how much flour is in one of the cups you are using as i am in the UK and weigh everything when i bake! Thanks a bunch :)
  • Wow! ! ! What an amazing video...you made it look sooo easy! This was excellent for a person like myself who has never made doughnuts, so even if it does not taste "just like" Krispy Kreme, at least I have the fundamentals! Thanks again, you rock! :-)
  • Thanks for the video i thought it was really fun to watch! Only problem was that i think 5mins mixing is not nearly enough to develop the dough adequately. I would recommend mixing in the bowl for 5mins then kneading on an oiled surface for a further 5mins before allowing the dough to rise.
  • @MrNiceBuns83 I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to knead more than I did ;-p
  • i'm a doughnut maker :D
  • good video! how many has anyone ever eaten in a day an hour or a minute?
  • duh you use rice flour. that is how krispy kreme makes there
    stupid
  • @joeyangel160 Are you calling Krispy Kreme stupid? Apparently grammar, and internet decorum, is not your strong point -- while bullying is something you excel at ;-p
  • @the99centchef Ha. I was super baked this morning. not trying to be rude, just High, Bully is something I am not. :)
  • @joeyangel160 No problem bro ;-p
  • Mr joeangel160, wow I can see you are as ignorant as anyone else. The person who provided the recipe for the donut makes more sense than your ignorant comment. Sadly, I can see your education is at a very low level, just go to school and learn some manners.
  • @joeyangel160 By the way thanks for letting me know you use rice flour. What are some other ingredients?
  • @GeeRawxx I used cheap all purpose flour :-p
  • Did you use all-purpose flour or bread flour?
  • @CassieMaeH all-purpose flour ;-p
  • krispey kreme is a good zombie wich the infection is fat and thumbs up if you like fat :D
  • yuumy yummy ymmy
  • 2:47 - 2:50 "I'm a doughnut maker!" That made me laugh! Sounded like Zach Galifianakis
  • Up*
  • That's the same spot I go to and whenever I go at night they always hook it u. One time they even hooked it up with a dozen original glazed donuts and I only ordered 2 pcs..!!!! KRISPY KREME CRENSHAW FTW!!!!
  • i Love Horses
  • I am hungry so i searched for "Doughnuts"
  • its to bad that krispy kream didnt guard their money like they guard their recipe
  • 6:20 "put the glaze, on the donut" LOL ! THE WAY HE SAYS IT IS SOOOOOOOO FUNNY
  • They look gooooood
  • the video is choppy and u look like a pedo
  • @ruckussssss I assume then, you are familiar with a pedo, or many of them? As for my "choppy" video, are you epileptic? ;-p
  • Hello, you are also rude Mr Ruckussssss, learn some manners, because obviously you don't have any!!!
  • the secret ingredient to all of theses processed foods is MSG . i made kfc that tastes like its from the bucket
  • @DonHazzaH Cheapest all purpose white flour ;-P
  • @DonHazzaH, thanks just made them they were awsome!
  • people in industry are crafty. pastry and breads are a fast easy food with no refrigeration, so they cripple us. companies remove fiber and nutrients from whole flour, put sticky goo on fast food, or chocolate to soil everything. bakers use a style from Europe of covering bread with seeds and "bits", to hide bug and rodent excrement and floor dirt (a poppy seed is the same size as roach dung.) i have inspected thousands of services as a volunteer. U can 2. - james mcashan for the US Senate
  • @jamesmcashan1 Wow, are you a Conservative? What's scary is the culture of fear...don't be sucked into it, that is why we are in never ending wars with imaginary ememies, that deplete our resources. Live in reality, it's imperfect, I know, but change it through positive actions -- not negativity! ;-p
  • That's was Pretty Close to a Krspy Kreme and I even haven't taste it yet.
  • @craigushka50 Welcome to the foul mouth 21Century! ;-p
  • @craigushka50 Welcome to capitalism -- unless you live off the grid, you are getting fleeced 24 hours! ;-p
  • @ocarinaguy41 I am...it's the first time I made them! ;-p
  • I went to a krispy kreme once and tried to get one doughnut and the person behind the register didn't know how to ring up only one and they were super busy...so they gave it to me for free. yum.
  • @berighteous Wow, how lucky can you get ;-P
  • What Oil did you use to fry the doughnuts?
    Thanks.
  • @MadnessVideoMr Cheap vegetable oil, of course ;-P
  • @the99centchef hi love your vids and thx for the donut recipe it was worth the time
  • what kind of oil?
  • @katefromkateandscout Cheap vegetable oil, of course -- all ingredients & instructions are listed on my blog ;-P
  • hmmm looks yummmm!!! thanks for the video... m surely gna make it wen i get home... i stay in the hostel and we don't have any cooking facility...
  • wow, thanks for this :)
  • your recipe is great! i made them at home and got great compliments from friends and family members.. thanks a lot..
  • @MissRock1996
    i would use cocoa powder because the melted choclate would go straight to the bottom
  • Thanks for posting this on youtube! They look relatively easy to make too! I'll definitely try it out.
  • I'm going to be making a sourdough starter and then I will be making some really good sourdough donuts! (Might add some ghirardelli milk chocolate chips to them too!) (=D
  • @burpo17 Sourdough sounds like a great idea...go for it!
  • i have a question, if i want my donuts to be chocolate glazed, i could just add chocolate to the mixture right? does cocoa powder work or do i have to melt chocolate chunks?
    Or is there another way to make them chocolate glazed?
    Anyway, thank you, very helpful video :)
  • @MissRock1996 Not sure which is better, maybe someone out there knows the answer?
  • @the99centchef Hahah thanks for the reply! :)
    I did exactly what you said in the video but my 'donuts' look nothing like donuts. They don't even taste like donuts :P Oh well, practice makes perfect :)
  • @MissRock1996 Yeah, sometimes when cutting them out, they change shape too much ;-P
  • @MissRock1996
    You should sift your cocoa powder with the sugar first. Then follow everything else in his recipe. If you just dump in the cocoa powder at some point in the recipe, you'll end up with a not very uniform looking chocolate glaze (kind of stripey, swirly). You can also look up recipes for chocolate chunks for a different type of glaze.
  • @TSmith72110 I'll surely do that next time! :) Thank you!! :)
  • @rawrpony93 thanks!
  • @missgrafix Worked for me ;-P
  • the secret is potato flour. or 1 potato in the flour
  • @ the99centchef where can I get the yeast packets from
  • @fyaoi Larger grocery markets carry them, my dollar store does too -- sometimes!
  • awesome outcome!
  • You can use egg whites mixed with sugar for the glaze...
  • Great video! I think this is the best video with best directions for donutes. Only thing I need to figure out is, how 100 degrees is.. then I'll go for it! Thanks!
  • @salishbeauty 100 degrees or 90 degrees, as long as yeast is put in liquid that is warm to the touch, that's close enough ;-p
  • @the99centchef thanks!
  • Looks really great!
  • your doughnuts are great. love them. keep up the good work.
  • hey, im from ingland we use metric messurement not cups so could u please tell me in grams what 2 cups of flour is?
