What is crazy is that Greece has only about $411 billion in outstanding debt. Why are we worried about Greece? When USA DEBT is over 14 Trillion!!! Newspapers and most tv channels present default as if it will be the end of the world, making it seem like the country is required to keep paying its debt even if its people starve. This film shows that is not the case. The message has to be heard loud and clear. I am sorry for all the developing countries that had to deal with the IMF and a corrupt government. There is still time to stop them in Greece.

Max no joke man Greece does need your help in this fight, please give advice on how to get out of this financial choke hold. Greece needs a plan to default, a plan to get it's economy up and running again and YOU can help.
Of course the fact that huge numbers of Greeks don't file taxes right & the fact they spend lots more than they make in revenues have nothing to do with this.
After WW2 there was an effort to prop up Greece because it looked for a long time that they would go Communist & join the Eastern Bloc. However the Cold War's long over & the Greek gov't never got things together.
If the Greeks cooked the books, & if they had that policy for years, it's because the people voted to. Bills are now due.
Yes, it is always good time to go to Greece. I just came form there I saw nothing about crises they are talking about on the TV. Just, maybe, avoid the Athens (squares) and go to islands. It is unbelievable how they came into financial problems with all that tourists which are leaving their money for years there. Probably corrupted government and western banks caused the problem. But the people is fantastic and hospitable and the nature is amazing.
I get it, the IMF is sleezy and literally came in with bankers and stole Greece's assets for pennies on the dollar. BUT can we talk about how Greece cooked their own books along with help from U.S. banks because they wanted INTO the EURO. And can we put a little of the blame on socialism where Greek workers/citizens had ridiculous Medical care, early retirement, etc. Most of Europe is finding out that socialism doesn't work and is moving away yet in the U.S. we're moving toward it!!
go Greece! default on the banks! As I did with my $2500 monthly mortgage in the US! Stayed in the house for free for 2 years! saving all that money, in time to purchase another one, cash $60K, when the market tanked in 2009. NOW I don't have a mortgage payment and my property taxes are $700 per year!
Serbs have a saying - " I'm in debts as Greece". The most inronc thing is that the saying is old more than a century and is very frequent in everyday communication. I have always asked myself why Greece, because they are our neighbors and they have always been in better financial situation then us. Now, that old saying is confirmed. I just came from Greece, everything was great except their tragic desire to sell you everything 300 % above its real price and to keep the change without permition.

You didnt bought stuff overpriced by greed, its the prices citizens buy also..
Yes you are right ,about 20 years ago everything was cheap in Greece so I bought my first 501's jeans and Reebok sneakers there. Prices here were 300% higher. Now, the prices are the same in Belgrade and Thessaloniki. But - I was talking about some restaurants and stores which are opened only during the tourist season. Few times I felt as a donkey - overpaying miserable meal or sunbathe lotion. That knocked down my picture of an ideal vacation in Greece. σας καλωσορίζω

Stick to attacking capitalism and the bankers. All due to unlimited bonuses and salaries for CEOs and banking executives.
Ahhh a Jew, you are the worst living things on Earth, staging terror all over the world, and blame it on the Semites, and whoever you consider your enemy.
No, you fucking low life Jew, the middle east people are Semites you idiot, and that goes for arabs too, you fucking idiot. The European Jews have nothing to do with Semites, in the middle east. You are converted Jews from East Europe, this is stated knowledge even in your stolen land in palestine. You know this myth of yours, you just think you are smart, and playing dumb.
@kennjohnsen The fact that you call me a "Jew", when I've never been one (I was raised atheist and am proud to still be one) shows you don't know shit about logic or anything practical. Yeah - I may screw up knowledge about some detail in past history, but here you are now: still spouting your Jew-hating bullshit.
Typical of anthropogenic global warming (AGW) deniers and finite-oil deniers.
@KevinSolway Bail Out: Act of loaning or giving capital to a person or entity in an attempt to save it from bankruptcy, insolvency or total liquidation. e.g. you can't pay the mortgage to your bank and a relative lends you money to bring the payments up to date.
@KevinSolway Maybe so, but "bailing out" is normally when you scoop water out of a boat to prevent it from sinking, rather than dropping a tonne of water onto the boat.
Greeks never take responsibility. If greeks don't pay back the money the citizins of the EU are going to loose their retirement money and other savings. @erdal0 Greeks didn't ask for the money. They forced us on the bailouts, when the only things we want, is to get out of the EU and default. Democracy does not exist. I won't pay for money i never spent.
@TheNeckSmacker and might i ask what has "Greece" done to you? because i am fairly sure that the "Greece" you're refering to are the 300 motherfucking cocksuckers in the parliament that have never, not even once, succeded in representing us, the people, and frankly, have never tried to represent us, because they too chose to fuck Greece. We, the normal, everyday people here in Greece are suffering all their decisions. If you want to blame someone, blame the 300 in that fuckhole and the banks.
Oh no believe me I hate the bankers as much as you do! Well let me put it this way, I am a Turk and we have a history of wars, well not that that is a problem, but the countless Greek hate comments on Turkish subjects is the reason I started to hate Greeks. Now I know Turks do the same thing too, but yeah I never talked with a Greek that disagreed with the Greek hatred against Turks, so ofcourse you can expect back the hatred!
@TheNeckSmacker I'm Greek-American and I disagree with the hatred against Turks. I understand the history, and I understand the current tensions that exist. But, I think people who hate an entire nation or an entire culture are ignoramuses. Not living in Greece, I don't have a sense of how widespread prejudice against others is in Greece. I have been disturbed by some comments too. It may be that haters find it easy to express themselves anonymously. I don't know.
@TheNeckSmacker Sounds good. You see, if it were up to you and me Greece and Turkey would have achieved complete peace and would be allies. The wrong people are in charge, I tell you.
@youwantustobeafraid I think all that is complete bullshit. i know that there is a lot of hatred between a number of greek people and turkish people, but it is something i completely despise, and hate. I only hold pitty and disgust for both greeks and turks that just continue this kind of stupid, imature bullshit, and i feel sorry for all the greek people that go to turkish vids or whatever else and start their little hate rants. I understand why you said what you said, but the people
@youwantustobeafraid but the people that feel like that are honestly not that many. Its easy for both sides to immedietly start thinking that everyone in Turkey or everyone in Greece is like that, but that's not true. I can never blame someone for something they didn't do. Ok, so turkey occupied greece for 400 years in the past - so what? is anybody alive in greece right now that experienced that? or is any turk that occupied greece alive right now? i think we should realise really fast that
@claudelebel55 Think of it like a stock or mutual fund made up of a bunch of loans, mortgages, anything that produces a stream of income and has collateral. Loans without collateral, like credit card debt, could not be included in such a structure. This structure gets divided up into tranches (pieces) that have different levels of risk with respect to how likely the underlying loan will be repaid, yield inc with risk inc. The "good" tranche has good loans, low yield, etc.
Greeks never take responsibility. If greeks don't pay back the money the citizins of the EU are going to loose their retirement money and other savings. GREEKS, I remind you one thing, we are all in this, if you backstab us and don't pay our money back, the people are going to be very angry and you will be out of the EU. People are fed up about the greeks here in Europe. We will feed you to the turks!
@mirabilo Troika is the tripartite committees led by the European Commission, and with the ECB and the IMF that organised the financial rescues of Greece, Ireland and Portugal.
Greece is close to redemption & all the descendants of ancient Greece have woken up to the fact that everything is set up (Re: murdoch, Global warming, H1N1, 9/11, IMF, etc...). TROIKA is trying to swallow its so called children, like Chronos did to his, but Zeus was saved/ fled & came back strong finishing him off. What is most important though, the Hellenes clearly see the happiness of our so called neighbors during our tough times!
the time for hanging is past it seems.. shot against a wall like the romanian leader.. this is the future of the banksters and politicians. can they get to their underground bases before we get them?
FOR GREECE outside the IMF. outside and the politicians who now 35 years led the country and the people here by the starter and waste. Konstantinos Karamanlis-Papandreou Andreas .- Simitis Costas - Costas Karamanlis .- George Papandreou's son Andreas thieves all of them.
SPARTANS PREPARE FOR GLORY!!!.......... THE EU WILL FALL!!! ... This little country Greece has defied the odds throughout it's whole history.... It will take down the giant once again! ....... As for this fool erdal0 first of all Turkey never gave Greece independence Greece fought a long war against the ottoman empire to take back it's land and get it's independence and second all I can say to you is Tourkos Kalos Mono Nekros.
@toronto240sx No one forced Greek government to land money form the EU securing it with Parthenon and other state property. Fight with the government, not the EU. The only reason for bailout is to save euro from depreciating drastically. And if Greek people paid taxed instead of avoiding them through flaky-laki, there would have been no need to ask for bail-out) So guys study well, work, and pay taxes! No taxes, no government funds available for your own pensions and other social benefits!
@sestricaanutka well, really the biggest problem of the Greek people right now is their fascist government(it is practically a dictatorship), so you have a point. The EU did not force the Greek government to loan money but EU definitively put pressure on the Greek Government and Germany is more than happy to borrow money to Greece.
@sestricaanutka They are fighting with the government-- didn't you see the video? And how do you know who has or has not paid taxes? Because the Greek government said so? Not exactly a reliable source...
Damn Dr... it sounds like Greece signed up for a Sub-prime Bailout (tricked up mortgage on an Epic Country scale) without reading the fine print of the IMF Goon Squad / Bankers. Damn Greek lawyers didn't read the details. WTF!! Sad buy funny ;(). The collapse thickens, stack real money, it is TRADITION. -STFM

I understand why you said what you said, but the people
youwantustobeafraid 7 months ago
@youwantustobeafraid but the people that feel like that are honestly not that many. Its easy for both sides to immedietly start thinking that everyone in Turkey or everyone in Greece is like that, but that's not true. I can never blame someone for something they didn't do. Ok, so turkey occupied greece for 400 years in the past - so what? is anybody alive in greece right now that experienced that? or is any turk that occupied greece alive right now? i think we should realise really fast that
youwantustobeafraid 7 months ago
@youwantustobeafraid we are brothers. there's no point in hating forever. only the insecure people want that and feel that way.

what is a CDO ?
claudelebel55 7 months ago
@claudelebel55 collatorized debt obligation
tanis4457 7 months ago
@tanis4457
so that is what it stand for, but what does it mean? what does CDO do?
KhmerD0g 7 months ago

1.0 Privatization 'Briberization.'
2.0 IMF/World Bank capital market deregulation allows investment capital to flow in and out the "Hot Money" cycle.
3.0 Market-Based Pricing, a fancy term for raising prices on food, water and cooking gas
3.5 IMF and World Bank call their "poverty reduction strategy": Free Trade- "The IMF riot."

SPARTANS PREPARE FOR GLORY!!!.......... THE EU WILL FALL!!! ... This little country Greece has defied the odds throughout it's whole history.... It will take down the giant once again! ....... As for this fool erdal0 first of all Turkey never gave Greece independence Greece fought a long war against the ottoman empire to take back it's land and get it's independence and second all I can say to you is Tourkos Kalos Mono Nekros.
toronto240sx 7 months ago 24
@toronto240sx No one forced Greek government to land money form the EU securing it with Parthenon and other state property. Fight with the government, not the EU. The only reason for bailout is to save euro from depreciating drastically. And if Greek people paid taxed instead of avoiding them through flaky-laki, there would have been no need to ask for bail-out) So guys study well, work, and pay taxes! No taxes, no government funds available for your own pensions and other social benefits!
sestricaanutka 7 months ago
I meant IMF of course)
sestricaanutka 7 months ago
@sestricaanutka well, really the biggest problem of the Greek people right now is their fascist government(it is practically a dictatorship), so you have a point. The EU did not force the Greek government to loan money but EU definitively put pressure on the Greek Government and Germany is more than happy to borrow money to Greece.
TheBellocazzo 7 months ago
@sestricaanutka They are fighting with the government-- didn't you see the video? And how do you know who has or has not paid taxes? Because the Greek government said so? Not exactly a reliable source...

Damn Dr... it sounds like Greece signed up for a Sub-prime Bailout (tricked up mortgage on an Epic Country scale) without reading the fine print of the IMF Goon Squad / Bankers. Damn Greek lawyers didn't read the details. WTF!! Sad buy funny ;(). The collapse thickens, stack real money, it is TRADITION. -STFM
