Les Paul had nothing to do with the SG because he didn't like it. He didn't like the style and body, but before there were SGs, there were Les Pauls. SGs come from the Les Paul family. Les Paul took his name off of it finally in 1962.

You'd think that with the lessons learned from these model runs that failed or succeeded tonally, that makers would have perfected the modern runs. Most of the classics still sound better.....strange. Friggin' poly finishes.....we want nitro back, standard....
