@GuitarGal2409 I will send you a more detail email on this and exactly what to do to get a more professional finish. As you can see above this was my first cupcake to me now it looks okay, but not great. After I made this one, I did not get better because the technique is the same, I got smarter about what I used to make both the bottom and the top so it was not practice, but rather tools. I used more tools and to me it is not practice as much as knowing the tricks of the trade.
@SingLoid You can put a barnish on it either the sculpey gloss or you can use nail polish though nail polish can corrode the polymer clay over time, it makes it look like ceramic. Polymer clay is about $1.99 per 2oz bar in the U.S
@sparkleskies of course 100% that is how I do it :) you can see my charms on etsy dot com on the shop thecolorclay and you will see the charms there are all 100% baked with the pin in!
@OhMyGummyBear try adding a bit of glue at teh end of the eyepin. For things like donuts and so on I bend the eyepin so it will stay in, for cupcakes it has to go straight so I bake then take the pin out then add a bit of glue at the tip
@TheSexyj123 Actually I bake mine in the toaster oven all the time! It works great as long as you adjust the temperature setting to the one on the package of clay! :) Hope this helps!!
Will air dry clay work? lol. That's all I have until my grandma sends me some polymer clay, which is in like week and I am the least patient person on EARTH! lol
