When Sev said the M word, he burned a bridge between Lily and He that could never be crossed again. Sev knew it too, but he never gave up loving her; though he knew in his heart she never loved him. That's why he hated Harry. Harry reminded him every day of what he'd done to the one woman he loved.
@silvertamagachi I disagree, I think James was like a life boat and Severus was the cruise ship. If the cruise ship sinks, then you stay on the lifeboat.
@tranhungtican lily wouldnt do that to james she was way to good of a person and she wouldnt sink to the level to hurt severus back i think she did love him but its possible to love two people at once but i think she moved on from snape james was there for her when snape had failed her and she found she fell in love with james because of that
