Sorry, but we believers are not obligated to tithe...simple as that. We are in the dispensation of Grace...Read what it says in the New Testament about giving. 2 Corinthians 9:7

Most of these so-called mainstream churches aren't worthy of ANY of our money considering what they teach and preach now...I am a big proponent of the home church concept now.

Read, understand, and pray. That's the way. The tithe WAS (past tense) used to feed the Levites, foreigners, and etc. It was to fear God.

The storehouse is not the church in the bible it is a storehouse to put the tithe(FOOD) in, also the offerings are specific things NOT amounts of money over the tithe (which is not money) this whole tithe law is really dishonest you should not need to twist scripture to fund any church .the tithe served a purpose in the old testament, Israel was a theocrasy and the tithe was like a tax , the Levitical priesthood and temple are long gone and so is the tithe law Christians are waking up to this.

Levitical law says the tithes are food and given to the Levites as they can own no land , Modern pastors are not Levites nor are they Levite replacements the Old testament tithe finished when Jesus our high priest fulfilled all the old testament law and a new covenant testament began , We are all priests now not just the Levites ,we are Gods temple ,no longer a building, I can preach the gospel free of charge and also in my place of work, we are free to give if we wish but it is NOT a tithe

Paul teaches in corinthians how the new testament Christian is supposed to give..

@bluesmann8 You should read Matthew 23:23. Jesus himself tells us to continue tithing. I choose to listen to Jesus, thank you. We are no longer bound to the old testament law, but we are asked to keep tithing.

@jvschmitty i have, jesus was rebuking the pharisees and teachers of the law. In which all were still under the law until christ did what he came here to do,. fullfill all the requierments of the law and dieing for the sins of all. so at that time in which jesus spoke they were still under the law untill jesus sais in john "it is finished" and died. 3 dayz later hello new testament! Glory be to god in the highest!

@bluesmann8 I know this was a long time ago, but I wanted to say that I don't mind giving God 10%. I believe when the bible says that whoever sows a lot will reap a lot. I agree that Jesus set us free from the law. I am glad that all belongs to God.

Faith is not born in plenty, it is born in poverty. And, if you do die tomorrow, having committed yourself into Christ, following His commandments (yes, tithing) then death means very little knowing that you are going to an eternal reward. Folks, I have lived on both sides, everything given to God is worth it! Every thing held back is lost. Please understand, this is submitted with love & peace behind it.

We as believers are children of the Kingdom of GOD and as such 1. If we want power, then we must surrender control. 2. If we want to live, then we must die. 3. If we desire to have, then we must give away. These principles are for the children of the Kingdom of GOD

What kind of logic is this? This smells a lot like trying to buy ones way into heaven. It also gives a false promise that if you give money, you'll get more money in return. I watch 700 Club, strictly out of entertainment, and this always baffles my mind how they always show people who are on their last dollars, tithing, and then their business starts to boom. What about the millions who give, and hey, they don't eat for a week? Never see those folks.

Tithing is begging by the threat of hell.

This is not faith. It is legalism. Fleecing the flock. Using God as a way to make money. Faith is giving freely as one is led to, not giving a tithe which is obligatory and under compulsion.

The new covenant is better than the old covenant. Freedom is better than bondage. Why would you want to be a Galatian?

The produce of the land was not money it was produce of the land given to the priest for sacrifices which led to right standing with God (atonment) Does giving to your church gain me ataonment or has Christ done away with O.T. sacrifices? The Grace of God towards a person does NOT deminish based on a tithe. God's love does not change. There is no proof that 90% does better than 100%. The test was for abundance of good weather not money. Money isn't God's food Mal 3:10.
