No I wasn't driving I just had the engine running.  I filmed this during the summer and I needed to put the AC on.

dude ur so lucky my dad bought a 5series Wagon and on his nav hes got a brown background if u start the menu. Uve got a blue background ur so lucky. If you know if you can change it please tell me

All your dad has to do is go to your local BMW dealer and ask them to upgrade your iDrive software to the latest Progman version. It's as simple as that!

It's nice, but the thing is a POS comapared to the easy to use Infiniti and Lexus systems.

Actually I have 2 Infinitis (M35x and G35x) and a Mercedes ML350 and I like the iDrive best.

I have a 328 wagon, R350, and a G35 with navis, and I just cant stand the knob on the BMW. It's also lacking compared to the Infiniti G35s in features and ease of use. I love how the G35 allows you to use the knob, buttons, touch screen, steering wheel, and voice control in any combination. BMW's iDrive is way better than Mercedes. The R350 my wife drives has the absolute worst nav system I've ever used. I personally think the old CD-based Mercedes system was better.

Maybe I like BMW system because it is newer to me...who knows? All I know is that all of the systems are great in particular the M35, but using it after a while it became stale, once again I'm not completely used to the BMW so that may be why I like it more.

does it have voice recognition like for instance i can tell it my destinations and it would input it for me? by command please contact me if anyone knows the answer

I love BMW's but I hate using navigation that doesn't have touch screen qwerty.

Yeah no touch screen, but you would be surprised at how intuitive this system is.
