  • Tone mayhem -_-

  • @loomietheman there is no tone knob for the bridge pickup on the stratocaster, just the neck and the middle one.

  • you play and sound well, one problem! Be creative and original !! You could do it maybe very good if you just make your own line

  • O.O Why so many DISLIKES???

  • you've got the notes, but your vibrato and tone are too aggressive. just work on mellowing it out for the right times.

  • turn the tone down, put it on the bridge pickup, smooth is out, and you'll have it.

  • /watch?v=aaznJu5DomM

  • really really trebly bro....

  • smoth or not i still enjoy it

  • BRO IS DAT A JOHN MAYER GUITAR??WAT STRINGS ARE U USING?, WAT GAUGE??

  • How can that be a 62 reissue? Yours has 22 frets instead of 21, the bridge is not a vintage style bridge (looks like a 90's bridge), and obviously a different pickgaurd. It's not clear but it also looks like you have 2 string trees.

    Unless it's frankenstien'd, that's not a 62 RI.

  • @MicMunk21 Ooooh, an expert! :D

  • Too stiff, but you got all the notes right.

  • Don't use a pick for the part you aren't jamming, the reason you sound so choppy and aggresive is the fact that you are using a pick. John doesn't use a pick in this song until he starts soloing if you want his tone don't use one. GREAT playing thats just my advice

  • sounds pretty awesome man

  • good, but too much bite, mellow out your sound a little more and you'd have it

  • brooo your tone is a little too sharp..

  • Sweet!!

  • what pedal are you using?

  • @NikkoMedrano >>>> It's Line 6 DL4 delay pedal

  • wtf????

  • @guidolinopoint <What would you say ?

  • holy shaky vibrato batman!

  • What loop are you using?

  • It's Line 6 DL4 delay pedal

  • @jojo595901 Just like John eh? haha, I had to go with the Boss RC-20XL Loop

    Station myself...bad ass loop.

  • You did a decent job on this..dont let anyone say crap about it, lol...i hate it when people diss guitar players...boy oh boy, we all start from the beginning and have more or less experience...all are having fun with the guitar and youtube...sigh...wish i could do half of what you do...my two cents worth...im trying to learn from eyeguitar, the website...slowly but surely

  • what scale is that around the :37 mark

  • its actually called 'slow dancing in a burning room'. but on his dvd 'where the light is', slow dancing on mullholand drive is some random improvising that he does.

  • Mate - Spot on. Thought that was awesome. Timing's great as well. Any comment on choices of loop station?

  • LOL , YOUR JACK IS UPSIDE DOWN -.-

  • @DuarteRodriguesY

    doesn't matter!!

  • yr gutiar rocks, but yr amp sucks

  • @Wili008800 its not the amp its the recording a blues jr is a great amp

  • you played the first part wrong, but other than that it was good

  • good bro, you just need a nice warm tube tone

  • Very good.

  • Sounds great though. I like it.

  • nice job man.

  • sounds great dude.

    check out mine tooplease

  • Your guitar needs a fuzzy, warm tone, and then it would sound perfect! Great Job.

  • stop dissing him i wish i could do this its sick

  • I think, for my taste, it's really trebly, john's tone has much less treble, but thats just me

  • You need to give you're vibrato a bit of work. It has too harsh of a sound and needs to be softened up a bit

  • good work mateee

  • just add some reberb ans delay and its perfect

  • hmm, it was a little sloppy, but i can tell you're feeling the music

all in all, a pretty dang good cover :) keep it up brotha

  • too much vibrato.

  • dude! fostex tape recorder i got one of those too!

  • No man it's a tascam porta 07 an old stuff !!! but very good

  • its a jam man

  • what do you use to get the begin sounding over again so you can play the solo over?

  • i do believe it's called a pedal.

  • some kind of a loop station.

  • ausum work.

as far as the comments about not being smooth enough go, remember u arent john mayer himself. it still sounds great and its better to add ur own style rather then an exact copy. as long as ur feeling it mate.

p.s. wasnt trying to offend anyone who said it should have been smoother

  • thanks man

  • this is really smooth song, so why don't you use pick on some part and use your fingure on back part?

  • It is the feeling...

I think Mayer use pick for this song even in two rock version

  • i enjoy to play this song either haha

as long time has passed i will wait for

your new version of john mayer,

i gonna upload my version of john mayer music

    either.

  • ah yeah!!

i checked two rock version now, but

    he use finguring really smoothly,

but actually your sound hear little sharp and

too mych strong, anyway i will wait for your

    new video

  • fully sik

  • Great playing, but dial down the tone and make it warmer.

  • Wonderfull !!!!

  • Great playing and great JM Strat :-)

  • watch you vibrato

  • That's the kind of vibrato that standard strats from like 1995-2007 has.

    Nice playing man! =)

  • @OwensMusic1 prolly the #1 hardest technique to master. took me years. a too fast, nervous sounding finger vibrato just hurts an otherwise good performance.

  • wow, well done mate, its a got a very good feel to it

  • failz

  • what does it mean ?

  • i'm just kidding dude. it looks like you got the notes correct and everything, but you just gotta smooth it out, it sounds way too choppy mang!

  • @xizzixchil3y exactly what i was thinking too. But, AWESOME STRAT.

  • Not that you can tell anything from a clip's sound but I think dialing up a warmer fatter tone would help for this tune.

The brightness comes across as a bit jarring at least through the computer speaker.

  • I don't think it's his tone. My guess is it's just the recording method. It sounds like he is recording through a built-in computer mic.

  • Your not playing theme very well, sorry. But add some more feeling to it, and its good.

You got the soloing down, I can hear. Very good!

  • would you make a video-tutorial......

    Thanks

  • dude

you have the same set up and stuff as my john mayer lover friend named john.

and he waers stuff like that haha

    its kinda wierd

  • 0:54 you got it flowing there! i like it. is that the jm strat? check out my vid if you ever want to

  • it's a fender stratocaster RI 62

  • the fretboard radius seems awful flat for a 62 reissue. replacement neck?

  • exactly, and 22 frets whereas neck RI 62 21 frets

  • great job, do you have tabs for this?

  • no sorry, yours fingers and yours hears are yours best friends...

  • good answer !

  • it seems a little....pinchy, i guess. Know what I mean?

  • could you precize ? i don't understand

  • He meens that your sound is to pinchy, to many high tones to it sounds like your pinching the strings and should be a bit warmer and smoother.

Please make some more composition videos, ive watched your other one countless times.

  • you mean in comparison to mayer playing it on a 1970 L-5?

  • lol true. strats tend to get pinchy high on the neck. and i think he has the tone control on the neck pickup all the way up.

That L-5 is a nice guitar, if i could have any guitar it would be an L-5. the tone Wes Montgomery got out of that gives me chills.

  • try to make it more smooth yeah?

  • i feel sick when i watch you play this mate, i wish i could do this, your skills are exemplary.superb.

  • how do u do this with the overlapping....i mean when u play something and it keeps repeating?

  • He's using DL4 Line 6. Google it...

  • i wanted to something like this but i dont have a loop station ¨/

  • go for the RC-2o like Seal and I. awesome settings

  • i actually had the rc-20xl first on my christmas wishlist, but i got an iphone instead. but im gonna get one of those when ive bought a new amp and fixed my guitar.

  • there is also JM4 Looper, and is very great !!!

  • i have tried that one, its really great and has some nice backing drums as well but its a bit expensive

  • it's true but the best is always expensive !!!

  • thats true, just look at the two rock custom reverb sig. and the john mayer two rock sig. :P

  • well, nothing wrong with the iphone! lol

  • no there isnt, but i was really sure my parents had bought the rc-20 :P

  • i'm using the dl4 and i've been getting really good results with it, also a bunch of other effects on it. but i suppose the rc-20 is designed for looping... how much loop time do you get?

  • nice bro....i need to go get a looper
