It's the perception that matters. Explain to us what difference it would make that someone as high up as the Sec. of State would meet with Iran, vs. the president. In either case, it's somebody high up in the U.S. gov't. If a meeting with the president would bolster I'mADinnerJacket's credability, so would a meeting with the Sec. of State. Either way, Kissinger is another McCain-like anachronism trying to hold onto his last strand of relevance. Why should Obama work strictly by his opinion?

Obama is a cool customer man... composed. People are saying why doesn't he get all "passionate" (aka snarky and condescending) like McCain.

The reason is simple, if he does this, the McCain camp will use that in ads with racial overtones painting him as "uppity", like a "angry black man".
