Yeah deleting the skateboard afterwards is definitely an option, but then you would have to do some sick manuals and board slides! :D

a good way to do it if u dont want stop motion is to cover ur skateboard completly in green tape then in the movie editor tell it to delete that color

@squagglenater no - harry was probably just in front of a green screen when they filmed it, then they removed the green, and masked out everything but his head. The skateboard thing would work if they had a background image without the board in it to put behind it. Then you'd see through the gap you cut out and see the road behind it instead.

That was pretty cool :) As a lot of other people said, it was pretty shaky,if you use a tripod just right (yes, it's hard :), it could be better. Also, try not to film so much in public places where there are random people skipping around in the background, it generally looks better. Just some constructive criticism, I do stop motion too but honestly, i probably wouldn't do much better :) BTW, what program did you use to compile the pictures? I've been looking for one for ages...

thats actually so much harder to do, and so much more time and effort. we would have had to have done it frame by frame in photoshop that way. even then it would have looked crappy

@Dclake21 In fact, if you used a still camera, it would be easy to cut the skateboard out from a video. Maybe harder than stopmotion, but it would technically be faster to do. You just record the skating, then record the scenery in exactly same camera position, and do some After Effects magic to paste the scenery on top of the skateboard. Still, very nice video :)

Or make the whole thing green and key it out in any video editing program, or AE, does require a few stills for the background though or else you still see the gaping holes.
