  • why did I burn Black Arc Records?

  • Dear Lee,

Not wishing to concern you, but your smoke detector looks dodgy. Whoever made this video ain't got no health & safety cert.

Remember when we managed Van, now true he took on the hear ear publicity, but them fucking sunflowers, Van you schizzy cat, this ain't Texas, its Amsterdam, Tulips Van, Tulips. Stay off the turps. Now who's the schiz ear, Me, Van, or Jinx the cat (I poisoned for being bad luck),

    Always carrying your torch,

    Ray Zor Lottory

  • [kids can be so cute, especially when they think they've suddenly discovered something "hip" that others have been into for DECADES *lol*]

  • I'm not sure who your comment was intended for, but you sound very patronising.

  • actually, I was going easy on someone who had been very patronizing toward me,

You prefaced your comment with acknowledging you had no clue what the response was really about, but for some reason then assumed to criticize it. I wonder what your basis was....couldn't have been age/generational-based [again], of course.

  • following his work over the years, the transition from genius into schizophrenia has been classic--unusual the degree to which the genius still comes through, though, if you don't try to hold onto an illusory structure, as this interviewer does.

Scratch's genius sees and bespeaks of insights, but the schizophrenia then tries to fill in the gaps with its own confabulation. No worries: The insights remain just as good, though.

  • Don't let the world's conventional ideas of "mental illness" cloud your own insights, my friend. "Madness" is but only another level of the mind-spirit, consciousness bursting outward.

  • Gee, thanks for explaining something based on assumptions I'm not making.

Like the other guy, you project onto me some nonsense, then get off with a mini-lecture of Profound Wisdom as you explain a ridiculously basic and obvious notion.

You forgot to throw in a "Jah bless" as if you are an enlightened rastafarian.

  • tell that to some poor cunt who got battered by a 'mad person'

  • Wow, thanks for your pretentious and condescending viewpoint.

  • actually, it's just a clinical observation of what's going on. not sure why that was such a threat to you--just a discussion. Your sarcasm has a lot of projection in it, though. I'm not attaching any of the negative connotation you presume to anything said. Schizophrenia is just a mental process. For some people it's functional, so I don't assume it to be mental illness. It occurs quite often with genius.

  • Brilliant, genius but he does own a season ticket to Barking!

  • I love the sound of Black Ark that "Swimming Pool" effect

  • what a legend

  • he is the most glorified mad man in the history of jamaican music.

  • ...but...everybody was smoking including Scratch :D Cheers

  • Mr Perry the jedi master

  • Scratch tells another story about the burning down of the studio where some guys come and tell him that he will produce for them and if he refuses they will burn down the studio. scratch did refuse and burned down the studio himself.

  • very trippy

  • very trippy

  • LMAO! Oh Scratch!

  • Total Genius I agree

    Respect for the Man!

  • I always wanted to know why he burnt down his studio's in the 80's...guess now I know! Or do I??

Still a legend even tho him mad nuh raaas! LOL

  • The Great Nutty Professor. He did so much for Raggae music and is a genius. But he did sell Bob Marley's music to ruthless explotative producers without the wailers permission. Maybe his biggest fault. But perhaps Bob wouldn't have had the international exposure he did if it wern't for that

  • true statement.the wailers explosion on their own right summed up by scratch's sales completed reggae's introduction every-where.

  • I have all the respect for this man get to know who he is and you will too.

  • Definitely a LEGEND!

  • I love that man he is such a legend I would be so hondered to meet him :)
