this is really noob. U dont even need the bunker in ur mineral line. just build it beside CC. the reason this terran sucked so bad is cos he lifted his barracks 4 sum unknown reason and it took him 4ever to build a 2nd marine. if u have more than 1 marine all U have to do is kite zealots 2 ur bunker and repair it. if they run away then unload marines and kite them back. voila, proxy protoss loses

@koekert112 Send a probe/scv/drone to scout them out. This is a map with only 2 possible base locations. In 1v1 there are usually only 4.

@koekert112 When it loads, u can see small signs next to minerals, which show where possible bases could be. Scout those, as scouting is very important

generally i mix cannon rush and proxy gateway rush together, thats very effective!

@DarkBrW - How though? From what I can tell the economy that the Protoss player has can't build fast enough. This strategy (in my opinion, and what I've observed in the video above) only works very early in the game because it relies on the ability to warp in zealots to destroy the economy of an otherwise capable enemy.

@B10HaZaRD yea thats how it exactly works, do it at very very beginning of the game, i send one prob to opponents base right when the game starts and build my first pylon right inside opponent's base, and then start doing the whole drill (well, cannons first, then warpgates)! thats actually kinda cheating isnt it lol! opponents always hate me when i do that hahaha

I like using proxy cannons into gateways. Do a standard build but instead of gateway put down a forge then head to scout. When you reach their base put up a pylon. Most of the time I do this they pull workers to stop pylon. If pylon is up put down two cannons then a gateway. They get so distracted that they don't macro up. Even if they take down my proxy I normally have made a four gate and then warp zealots into their natural, where I have another pylon waiting.

@OnlyBrainLeft "E" for probes. "B" then "E" for pylons. Then there's the unit ability hotkeys, which are very important, when using something like High Templars or sentries. Check out some hotkey guide on google.

Can you please post a how to counter for this strategy? I haven't found a good one on youtube yet. i do know that by the end of the month with the patch this isn't going to be so effective with longer build times for the zealots

@ckmost The best way of countering this is to attack with your SCVs the pylon,if you are reffering on how to know if they entered is,scout your opponents base,if its unusual,they go proxy.

@BigHeadsHooKah i can beat the proxy, it's not that hard, the issue is the fact that it's a really weak strat, more-over this weak strat weakens your overall gameplay because people come to rely on it, which is foolish, once i break a proxy i can just walk over my enemy without any trouble, and that makes for bad game play evolution. and the players that decide to focus on this strat are going to be useless once it's response becomes becomes more common.

@SamHagagaga building assimilators on their gas just alerts them to your presence, and is a waste of minerals when trying to provide early pressure and hope to end it early. You'd only build assimilators/refineries/extrac­tors when you're hoping to hinder their tech and then come at them later with a stronger force

@Krepps Scout your base early on when versing Protoss then send all workers to kill the probe if you see it

@Krepps build supply depots at specific places in your base to make sure the protoss player is not doing a proxy pylon maneuver. That alone is not enough though, it is important to have your base scouted out until those supply depots can be built. If you do see the opponent doing this, quickly send in 2 or 3 scvs to harass the protoss scv and even kill it if possible as the weakness to this build is lack of scvs in the protoss base allowing you to get out your troops a bit quicker.

I find that its better to block the Pylon off with the 2 Gateways, especially against Zerg and Protoss so that they can't just destroy the pylon and render the Gateways useless
