I think they went to the same college or university. And one of the earliest songs Garland wrote, appeared on John Cale's first solo album. 6 degrees of seperation...
I was at this show, and i was standing in one of the front rows next to center aisle linking the mixing tower to the stage. At a certain point there's this curly haired guy coming up and joining me next to the barrier. He nods hi, I nod hi, and I'm thinking to myself 'he looks familiar', but well, I'm watching garland starting off his set. Turns out I was standing next to Lou Reed. It was nice, but alas, no matador at that gig..
Same thing happened to me before the gig! This guy is leaning on the barrier in front of me (we were at the front row), but I was too busy chatting away to pay him attention... when he leaves, my mum says to me 'I think that was Lou Reed standing next to you'...and of course I started to make fun of her, but then it turned out she was right. She still rubs my nose in it!
Lou Reed ad lib..... man I should have been there! The New York City man loves Belgium!? I'm jealous of the people who got to experience this. I heard he was in Belgium because his partner was in hospital in Gent. Not sure. Anyway, great clip!
I was backliner at the jazz café of the montreux festival this year 2007, this guy his so cool with a so fabulous energy. I hope I'll see him again may be in Paris on momartre hill!
Hi Icecream, we have 2 festivals. Next is at begining of september, it should be great Garland arrive to us. My managment can arrange something about that.
yes i missed that moment because i was a little to late, let us hope to see Lou Reed next year again, but too be the headliner? thanks for sharing this wonderfull moment
This is absolute amazing. Lou was in Belgium because of the surgery of Laurie in Ghent. Seems like he took the opportunity to join his pal Garland on stage at the Lokerse Feesten in Lokeren. This small town festival seems to year after year be able to put an high quality set together. This was a nice extra!!!

Is this some kind of a joke? I know that's Lou reed, and the band is obviously good, but these two totally suck...give me a break!
