if you were still a gnome youd be able to escape artist out of slow effects :P he doesnt actually plan and script his moves like i do with my 80 mage (best of my server,arathor look up cheron on armory) but one thing i appreciate with this mage is that he strafes which makes him a good kiter too,strafe > backsteps,still a wonderful mage though in this video

tbh it doesn't matter which race that has got more int... (and gnomes +5 intellect racial won't help at higher lvl) when you get gear most mages will have the same mana.

I've seen gnomes with lower mana than my undead mage so don't worry about race.

macros, have your summon water ele bound to e or just click if you like then lets say make a macro saying this /cast [pet] freeze

drag that onto your action bar and bind it to lets say t and since its not on global cd when you summon your water ele it can be used instantly just depending on how fast you can click
