  • In response to Michaeridesabike...Your opinion of the song is fine but don't say to forget other versions...Everyone's musical tastes are different and I prefer full choir versions and this version is VERY GOOD..

  • Brilliant.... just brilliant guys. well done

  • beautiful nusic

  • como chigados un coro que canta uan cancion de goospel y no hay un solo afroamericano ademas la interpretacion es pobre y sin la sencibilidad que deberia tener

para saber como se canta checarlo con el sr Taj Mahal

  • With no disrespect to these people: Forget this and the blues brothers, listen to son house or blind willie.

  • awesome

  • Uggg. Elevator music. Well how much soul can a bunch of white Canadians have anyway?

  • great interpretation (singers and musiciens), bravo !!

  • Great gospel!

  • I don't believe in God but I love this music.

  • So write a good atheist song.

  • Great performance. Check also YouTube for "Blues Brothers 2000 John the Revelator" - A great performance also;)

  • can someone tell who this gospel group is?

  • Check the video description gospelquebec websiote

  • they have the Spirit

    HOLY SPIRIT!

    and that's all i need.

  • Good performance and gospel choir. But I miss more passion.

  • Wonderful guys I sooo love this version. Thank goodness someone has done this version. I looked at most of the other choirs singin it here on Youtube and they ruin it by taking the soul outta it. They make it white! You guys are white but you got black hearts :-).

Here's my question though...who were the original people to do this version and is there a video of it here on YTube. I friend of mine had a recording of it but she no longer here. Was Taj Mahal involved in it?

  • According to Wikipedia it was Taj Mahal, Sam Moore (of Sam and Dave fame) on vocals, and Cab Blues, which I'm guessing was Cab Calloway.

  • Cab was dead when they recorded that one, also, James Brown & Joe Morton( as Cab ) are credited.

  • liked the orginal more

  • The original???!!!

  • It's hard to find the 'original'. It's has been a common song in religious, soul and/or gospel since for ever :/
