  • hi bhavna! i tried ur kulecha recipe yesterday but mine didnt turn out so well.. i used the accurate quantities of ingredients and followed all the steps and the dough looked like urs at various stages of the recipe, but the end result was a yogurty tasting piece of bread. could it be because i didnt bake it properly? and rolling out the dough was impossible even after i oiled my hands, i had to add extra flour to it. my oven usually browns on the bottom and not on the top of the bread pls help!

  • @feb0216

    Hi

Last time I made with little hard dough and mine still turned out great. Make sure to take as much dry flour as you need while rolling. As far as baking, ovens are vary. In my oven, top gets brown easily if I put on top rack so I always bake most fo the items on middle rack to bake evenly. You can try next time with little less temperature to bake your kulechas properly. Still if you can't get good resulut, just bake them like chapatis on stove top and comes out great.

  • It is interesting that in Russian language there is a similar word, "kulich", meaning a kind of bread. Although it is quite different in taste: a sweet Easter bread. Thank you for this recipe.
