I go to the third largest university in Canada. 50,000 students and faculty belong to my school. Approx. 1.1 million people were murdered at Auschwitz. That's like 22x the population of my school (and it's pretty fucking big) being murdered. So mind-boggling.

@tomthefunky If you knew any thing about Unit 731 you would know the US, British, Russain and Chinese soldiers were used medical experiements like performing autopsies on living soldiers with no anesthesia. Chinese civilians and soldiers suffered the most. Every one in China knows about Unit 731 and to this days the dirty Japs refuse to apologize to them.

@DayveIsh The real cause: overemphasis of the European theater, understandable because most Americans/Europeans have European ancestry. Also, US internment camps were our worst war time civil rights violation. The result: under-emphasis of Tojo's monsters. People should learn of the rape of Nanking & all the other horrors. The cure: study WWII MILITARY history three times as much as anything else in the era, including the Holocaust.

Ok, just to clarify, my previous comment wasn't condoning murder or the actions of the Nazi. I totally oppose them. What I meant was, even after they've committed such horrendous murders, many of them still get to live a good life. Where is this thing called justice? So one could in fact get away with murder, literally.

yeah, just like all the British should be blamed for the crimes of the British Empire: the slave trade, numerous genocides of indigenous peoples such as the extermination of ALL of the aboriginal peoples of Tazmania. Oh, and let's not forget Winston Churchill who advocated using mustard gas on native peoples who gave the empire trouble. As a cold blooded-remorseless Brit, I'm sure you're proud of your former empire which practiced slavery and genocide on a global scale.

....and genocides? When has Britain come clean on those? Yeah, the Nazis were truly evil but the allies weren't that much better. The Nuremberg laws were almost identical to the Jim Crow laws in the south -and FDR refused to sign an anti-lynching law. And we don't need to go into the crimes of Stalin whose body count exceeds Hitler's.

The British empire never had any industrialized killing centers, or any plans for annihlating whole people, or anybody at all. People always suffer under an empire, but you tell me under which regime you would rather live. British empire, or Nazi German?
Personally I'd rather live under the British empire, where life continued as normal.

@DayveIsh actually, the British Empire usually benefited the people it ruled out of the 20 wealthiest countries 11 were once ruled by England. If you don't believe me compare South Africa to the Congo or Malaysia to Indonesia

@DayveIsh During the Anglo-Boer War the British ran "Concentration Camps" that held the families of Boer Combatants. Families could be "redeemed" by the combatant. Boer women and children died of Typhus and other diseases in the camps.
