Judge Barnes is calm, prepared and articulate. Her opponent let his emotions overtake him, which is a huge liability in a sitting judge. I wholeheartedly support Judge Barnes.
I am so sick of the hullabaloo about the appointment process. Don't blame Judge Barnes... The timing of someone's retirement is not her fault. And I take the fact that people whined about it and brought a lawsuit over it as sour grapes. That being said, I have been before her many times since she took the bench and not only I, but nearly all of my clients who received her judgments, felt that she was fair, listened to the arguments, was polite and entered an appropriate result.
Judge Jennifer Barnes comes off as tough, smart, and capable. I hope the voters of Bay County can see her competence... and follow the guidance of the Bay City Times and local law enforcement by voting to keep her on the bench.
Is Mr. Janer's anger directed at Judge Barnes because she's so articulate? Or because he feels entitled to the position? Their answers are pretty disparate, she's calm and clear - he's just pissed.

Wow - she's good. He's entitled to the position because he's older? She's clear, balanced, and even-keeled. Him = not so much judicial temperment.
