  • My complex partial seizures are rather interesting. I can feel them come on hours before and oddly enough the build up helps with my college class work. However when the seizure hits, I have no warning what so ever. The seizure hits at the sap of the fingers. And during the seizure I have ever presentation that shows itself; all during the same seizure nonetheless: deja vu, jamais vu, fear, euphoria, depersonalization, tunnel vision, and even the change in size of objects.

  • I can't hear what you're saying. It's not your voice, it's the recording

  • My daugther was put on Lamictal for almost 2 months... but no improvement was detected, so eventually we stopped it as it was not stopping the head drops!! how can we ever know that the duration of a medication on trial basis is enough or even the medicine is suitable for this kind of seizure!!

  • I'm on Lamictal. When I have the "deja vu" thing I feel really scared and I just try to ignore but then I'll black out. I have no tumors or anything, my EEG was perfectly fine. I think I have stressed induced seizures. But I have them once or twice a month. I'm still trying to adjust to Lamictal, I guess.

  • Flash Mobs for Epilepsy... Get with your friends, learn the dance and make a difference. Contact me on facebook and let me know what mall you're going to do it at and i'll post an event to get you more flash mobsters.

  • Marry me and we will live happily ever after in eternal status epilepticus. Just kidding, you're too hot to ignore ... On a more related note, keep in mind that Lamictal is generally not associated with lower calcium levels and therefore does not cause boneloss as far as I know. I'd post a link on here regarding this particular subject but youtube wont allow me. Anyway, so you know ! As far as I can tell, Lamictal is one of the better anticonvulsants around.

  • Friend me on facebook. username fix epilepsy

  • Everyone just make sure to tell your neurologist everything. Every seizure creates lesions(scar tissue) on those misfiring neurons, when that happens they don't work again. over time this will add up. My seizures started simple exactly like Ms. Candyheart. Absent and complex partial seizures. Then on to the Tonic-Clonic convulsive seizure. My second one, I woke up with a motor block on my knees, i stiffened up on the gas and found a 100 year old tree at 65mph. Lucky is not the word here.

  • Well my medicine has been changed to Lamictal as well. So far so good, we'll see though lol. Have to go in tommorow to get my blood level checked to see if its the right amount or not. Hope everythings goin well for you babe. Ttyl.

  • @Tprsteve01 Lamictal works very well for me; I hope it works for you as well. One side affect you might notice is hic ups. I have gotten them every day sense I started taking lamictal. Another thing is lamictal takes away a lot of calcium so I have to take folic acid and vitamins along with taking twice the amount of calcium then I normally did. So that’s something you might want to talk to your doctor about so you have strong bones and teeth :) Hope everything works out for you!

  • @candyheart0422 hey darlen, you said you take lamictal....just out of curiousity, how many MGs of it do you take? 50 and 50 didnt work so now I take 100 in the am and 100 in the pm. Im just curious about the dose versus body weight. holler back,

  • it took 7 years to figure out I was having mild seizures because someone walked in my room and saw me have one. Sadly EEG's wont always pick up seizure activity.

  • yea im scared as hell about their affects on my life and driving and esp. becoming a trooper, regardless how controled my seizures are. what's your experience with deja vu?

  • yep youll wake up and feel that your dream was real. Takes awhile to forget, freaky as hell.

  • @candyheart0422 i also was wondering, what med do you take? have you ever had a seizure where you went 100% unconscious? ttyl

  • just had a complex partial, last thursday and totalled my dodge durango :( Your state requires that you be takin off your medication for a license? Where ya from? I'm from VA......we're good if we can control the seizures with medication. My dumbass just fell asleep one night last week, not taking my medicine and one second im driving behind a nice 2010 blue dodge ram next im waking up to fire & rescue and the sound of the diesel engines of the fire trucks and ambulance in the background, crazy!

  • @Tprsteve01 Im so sorry that that happened to you! In my state (MN) i only get my license taken away if they report it. But the doctor said that i shouldnt drive for 6 months! Up until i was 16 i took kepra, now these days i take lamictal and folic acid because lamictal takes away from my calcium intake! Also i assume that you have had an EEG? If you haven't i would talk to your doctor! They suck but are very important! Hope this helps :)

  • lol wow Karah, perv veiwerrrss!!!!! haha jk :P

  • Can barely hear you on max volume

  • @seeriktus Sorry my voice is never very loud!

  • Thumbs up, cuz you look hot to me. ;)

  • @seasonedsevencolors Thanks i guess lol

  • Your description of what you experience during a seizure is really good. Thats what I go through as well. Thanks so much for posting. Take care
