very nice job indeed, but i might suggest that you counter sink your screws, when driving them in. this prevents the basket of the subwoofer from getting warped. you seem very intelligent, so you probably knew this already. keep up the good videos, you earned another subscriber.

Very cool man! Transmission line boxes are the way to go. I have 1 SKAR AUDIO VVX-10 in a box I built like that and it is beating harder than two 12's. Great job on that box too.

It's nice to see a car box builder incorporating some of the more efficient designs. I just built two towers like these with twin 5.25" woofers each for my home stereo and they are impressive.

TL boxes are absolutely amazing if you can afford the space. Your design fit the cab nicely. I'm going to try a TL or a 6th order in my truck next i think, but for now my AQ 12s vented @ 36hz is enough - but I have a 4cuft box.

My current project is 2 tapped horns with 6.5" drivers that go down to 25hz

@BaggeDNDragged90 Realizing that it's predominantly the enclosure that determines what a speaker sounds like, is it really the subs that they love/hate or the enclosures that they're in? You saw what I was able to do with that little pair; they're good subs.

Hey, I am wondering if you ever heard of the Dayton Audio 18 inch "classic" woofer, it's 4 ohms and it costs around 125$ shipped on parts-express among other sites... It has a 25Hz FS, pretty good sensitivity, "paper" (composite?) cone, only 300 watts RMS, but supposedly the sensitivity is high enough that it is good enough. I want to buy one for my room, to really be able to hear and feel 25Hz~ do you think it's a good choice? Probably going for slot ported enclosure..?

@cotyballs That would be a rather tall order for a pair of 8s. I just barely scratched the 150s with a pair of DD1508s in my CRX in Georgia, and that's in a strictly SPL enclosure; no hair tricks. I don't think that it's something that these gentlemen would be particularly interested in.

@brandonscarinfo No need to downgrade, just get a better enclosure for your 10s. As for the amount of power the subs were getting, I have no idea; I never measured, but it couldn't have been much.

Can't put a box with enough airspace in my trunk for them, so I am downgrading to some 8"s...thinking maybe 4 SA-8s, or 2 DD 508s....not sure though, I am looking to go pretty low powered if I can. I am most likely gonna request a box from you soon :)

@walkingfreak Not necessarily. Depends on the amount of space that you have to work with, and the shape of that space. Though a transmission line might not be the way to go in your case. It really depends on your woofers' T/S parameters, your cabin geometry, and what you want in terms of output.

As I've mentioned in the video, this is the most effective design (for the output that we were after) given the T/S parameters of those particular subs and the nature of that particular cabin geometry. Though change one or the other, and a different design might emerge as superior.
