  • epoxy resin or polyester resin? or will either do?

  • could you use fabric and paper both?

  • @STREETRAT211 of course

  • Great video. I am amazed at how simple the process looks. I can't wait to try it myself.

  • if you only coat every other layer you will not use as much resin, and when you come to clamp the layers you will not get the epoxy resin all over the floor.

  • the ratio of resin to harderner is important. if you do not put enough harderner in then it will not cure properly and you will not get a hard resin finish. the ammount of resin you use dose not change the speed of the setting of the resin. you can buy slow or fast set resin, if theres not enough time for you to complete this task then you can use a slow set combination.

  • Very nice vid!!! thanks for making it !!! i subbed

  • @spydercofan99 thank you and your very welcome!!!! glad you enjoyed!!

  • @Mortaxe Your welcome :), glad i could help!!! thank you for the support!!

  • Hi, I was wondering if you could collect and recycle that resin that pours out when the whole piece is in the clamps? Or does it become unusable? Thanks for your time

  • @Mortaxe it becomes unsuable because it was mixed with hardner, and will harden qucikly thus making is unusuable. :)

  • @Auslander999 I use the micarta for handle material for my knives :), its easy to make and its a great lightwiegh tough handle material!!

  • That is sooo simple and soooo cool! I ca't wait to see the final product!

  • @hatsan38 haha dziękuje :), no napweno się przyda ;).

  • can this be done with other substances, like "Isoflex"? Or does it have to be resin?

  • @Schmidt54 I suggest resin, you can do it with epoxy too, but it gets too hard and you use WAY too much of it, plus resin is cheap ;).

  • very cool idea bro

  • @pmprydr thanks! :)

  • Sweet! Dig the old vice and work bench!!

  • @Lookinformemarbles the old vise got busted unfortunetly.... 50+ years on that beauty!!! finally kicked the bucket... mostly because of the dripping resin lol :D.

  • @TheLazySpoiledKitty haha maybe make them into scales to keep an already thick knife relatively thin, but amazing! Like, if you used 3/16th inch thick steel, these scales may look good!

  • very sweet
