Probably their finest moment, in my humble opinion. It sounds like nothing else and the video is strangely haunting too, particularly during the choruses.
Kitchens of Distinction was the finest band ever to emerge out of the U.K. in the late 80's and early 90's. I really miss the band and wish they were still performing today, but their music is timeless.
Does anybody know if there's a CD version of this? I have the Capsule record, but the version on it is played on piano (by no means a bad thing), and the only other version I've found is vinyl (rare and pricey).
Another underestimated band. But I think is better. I love this band, of special form their first album "love is Hell" (1987), which sounds between a fine post punk and a beautiful and atmospheric shoegaze. They have influenced to as present bands as Editors and Interpol.
This song is from those georgeos album. Hey listen "starnge free world" and "Death of cool" albums too.
A little of JOY DIVISION + COCTEAU TWINS + THE CHAMELEONS U.K + THE SMITHS = KOD.
Interpol! Yes! Too funny, I am sending to my friend on MySpace: this video and 'These Hands' by Interpol. Many may not hear the likeness, but when I first heard 'These Hands' I knew it was inspired by the Kitchens! I'm not especially a Kitchens follower (though they are great), I just knew when I heard it it was inspired by these guys!

Wow, this is so good. Especially the intro of sub 10 secs and the first time "every great nation ends in deserving war" is sang.

Most of KoD's catalogue now available on mp3 and CD. Capsule, a "best of", is worth it but there are some tracks omitted - just get all the albums!

1989 on 'one little indian'. They had an ode to Thatcher on the B-side called 'Magarets injection'.

Thank you so much for uploading this song. Their album 'Love Is Hell' was great. I saw them in concert back in 93'. Absolutely amazing!
