  • Probably their finest moment, in my humble opinion. It sounds like nothing else and the video is strangely haunting too, particularly during the choruses.

  • Con ésta canción, conocí a ésta genialísima banda!!! Saludos desde México!!!

  • Wow, this is so good. Especially the intro of sub 10 secs and the first time "every great nation ends in deserving war" is sang.

  • Most of KoD's catalogue now available on mp3 and CD. Capsule, a "best of", is worth it but there are some tracks omitted - just get all the albums!

  • Kitchens of Distinction was the finest band ever to emerge out of the U.K. in the late 80's and early 90's. I really miss the band and wish they were still performing today, but their music is timeless.

  • This track appears on Love Is Hell their first album. It's available on Amazon.

  • 1989 on 'one little indian'. They had an ode to Thatcher on the B-side called 'Magarets injection'.

  • Just beautiful. Thank you SO much for posting this. Long live KOD!

  • Does anybody know if there's a CD version of this? I have the Capsule record, but the version on it is played on piano (by no means a bad thing), and the only other version I've found is vinyl (rare and pricey).

  • Exactly what i want to know, i would kill for this on cd. Or MP3 for that matter.

  • If you still haven't find it, drop me a pm with your email.

  • yes, i have the single CD of elephantine, just this version as in this clip. drop me a mail!

  • Love Is Hell their first l.p.

  • Many thanks for posting this absolute classic. Such a good song from the best era of indie.

  • Wow there is just an endless array of fabulous music on youtube

  • Another underestimated band. But I think is better. I love this band, of special form their first album "love is Hell" (1987), which sounds between a fine post punk and a beautiful and atmospheric shoegaze. They have influenced to as present bands as Editors and Interpol.

This song is from those georgeos album. Hey listen "starnge free world" and "Death of cool" albums too.

A little of JOY DIVISION + COCTEAU TWINS + THE CHAMELEONS U.K + THE SMITHS = KOD.

  • Interpol! Yes! Too funny, I am sending to my friend on MySpace: this video and 'These Hands' by Interpol. Many may not hear the likeness, but when I first heard 'These Hands' I knew it was inspired by the Kitchens! I'm not especially a Kitchens follower (though they are great), I just knew when I heard it it was inspired by these guys!

  • thanks for dropping the name of The Chameleons- a band i still enjoy.

  • i have just discovered this band.....they are great

  • After 20 odd years this i the 1st time I´ve

    senn this vid.

    Thanks for that

  • What a wonderful and underrated band the Kitchens were. Several cuts above most of the pish of that time. We will remember them!

  • I'm among the ones who'd been waiting for years for this clip - thanks for the post!!

  • I did the animation on this!

  • i edited this

  • Thanks a lot. You've made me a very happy man!

  • Thanx for the video. It will never be a band like KOD.

  • Thanx, a lot of people had been waiting for YEARS for this clip !!

  • "Every great nation...ends up deserving War!

Thank you so much for uploading this song. Their album 'Love Is Hell' was great. I saw them in concert back in 93'. Absolutely amazing!
