  • HE DOESNT HAVE SOAP SHOES LOL

  • Anybody notice the helicopter looks alot like a Hind D?

  • Anyone notice he had his normal shoes?

  • thumbs up for japanese sonic not saying YEA as he did in the american version.

  • He doesn't even have the Soap Shoes in the American opening, iirc.

  • I Was playing Sonic Adventure DX on my PS3, changed the language to Japanese, and I think Sonic was swearing. Did SEGA not edit it out? They started a Hawaiian American copany.

  • haha I have this on disk. sonic's "awesome! 1000 points" trick on the skateboarding part is just a backflip instead of the 1080º spin

  • This woulda been a good opening. why did sega scrap it?

  • I´m Watching this hearing "Burning Way Past Cool"xD

  • i wanted sonics normal shoes in dis game why replace them

  • At 0:39 Sonics Eyes look Freeky

  • If you keep clicking 0:34 , it looks like Sonic is humping the helicopter's wing, no joke.

  • Comment removed

  • Those textures on the helicopter still look great. I was so amazed when I saw that back then on DC.

  • Sonic felt prefer running but then he skyboarded down? Well, I don't want any complain about Sonic not running in Sonic Riders if people saw this.

Interestingly, the boarding scene in Sonic 3's Ice Cap supposed to used a piece from S&K's Flying Battery, before the game was splitted into two games. I guess they kinda reused the concept in SA2 (Sonic skyboarding with a piece of an aircraft).

As for Japanese and swearing. One swear by being impolite. In that case, Sonic sweared a LOT.

  • @OrinokawaMizuki

that actually makes sense.i mean why would there just randomly be a snowboard there?

  • too bad he didnt say what the hell in the actual game

  • I LOVE Sonic's Japanese voice!!

  • I remember this as a demo for Dreamcast

  • I'd love to know how he survives the fall, does he have a built-in hedgehog parachute? Cause when you start the level, he just hits the road and starts riding XD

  • @xAnggulx

I personally like to know on how he survived in Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I, with no Tails as back up. Escape capsule maybe?

But in most cases, he seems to surviveable in most story related drops (CD, 3, Unleashed, etc).

  • hewy guys notice the sshoes... look the same buit how about the helicopter? no just kidding

  • sonic actually sounds cool in Japanese

  • Well, i kinda figure why they used "What the Hell" Because Japan does not think that cussing is that bad as USA does. And have you seen the sonic and kirby animations in japan? The cuss in EVERY SINGLE EPISODE!!! So its not considered Bad but to United States it is. But most of us dont care...

  • Technically they dont have curse words, just rude things to say which would be the equivalent of swearing, or could be interpretated as cussing

  • hell isn't even a curse word

  • Sonic has his regular shoes in the demo, even when you play.

  • i can't beileve i never notce the diffrend shoes when i 1st played this(but i did before this vid tho)

  • @unionofonion

    thank you

  • if anyone didn't notice, sonic doesn't have the soap shoes when he jump out the helicopter but when he jumps off it with the board...he does, i think its just on the dc where that happens, they might have fixed it on battle

  • Actually, even when he's on the board he still doesn't have them..

  • i hate when he have sopeshoes, good thing they kept the old clasic shoes

  • WTF? jp verson has swears :( omg he doseint has sope shoes retared

  • @ShadowRocks25

    retard*

  • lol i guess i see why people complain bout da soapshoes (which look kinda kool) but i guess people would also be pissed if they changed mario from plumber's outfit to pants and shirt or somethin...sideways hat? xP

  • that Mario would look super ghetto XD

  • Did the Jaoenese have the Soapshoes thing? (They advertised it enough didn't they, shesh)

  • I remember playing this. It came with my copy of Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast

  • they said What the Hell in a kids game? (yes, i know its a prototype, but....)

  • In the final for Sonic Adventure DX, for one of the missions, they said "in a burning hell" Was the hint to tell you wherever whatever you need for the mission is.

    No big deal. >_>

  • In Japan, cursing isn't considered to be as bad as in English.

  • it's not just that. Also, they don't have any specific "curse" words. Anything can be a swear if it isn't proper to say. Like the word "teme" for example. People think it means bastard but it doesn't. It's just a very rude way of saying "you."

  • @FroststareKhold Japan doesn't actually have cursing. We just translate it as such.

  • @FroststareKhold Taht includes da Sonic X shows and recent Sonic games.

  • what is the name of this song

  • I remember this video being in the final release anyway. So the game starts with this (no soaps) then when u play, he has his soaps. Had PAL-UK version. I always assumed he changed shoes as he fell, somehow XD

(havent checked the comments to see if anyone has pointed this out)

  • Did anyone notice he's wearing his regular shoes instead of his grinding ones?

  • everyone but you, seeing as we read the description

  • I realize it's the prototype intro, I thought I'd just point something out.

  • yeah but it says sonic doesn't have his soapshoes in the description, so it's already been pointed out

  • Okay, Jeez Sorry!

  • There's no need for you to come down on others in such a disrespectful manner, "everyone but you, seeing as we read the description." That's just like me trying to tell you capatalize your "E's" at the beginning of your sentences and say leave a period at the end of your sentences.

  • who on earth does that on youtube unless they type all the time and do it automatically? frankly it would have been better for your childish rebuttal is my spelling was off the mark, but it wasn't

  • Yeah whatever buddy, I quit this argument because if you're going to continue, that makes you the childish one now doesn't it? Good Day sir.

  • I was about to suggest the same thing, albeit more exhasperatedly

  • I do. It's not hard. What? Your finger can't reach the shift key? Look, there's one on both sides of the f***ing keyboard, just to help your retarded ass. This isn't rocket science. You can respond, but the odds are I won't respond back, because that would be a waste of time.

  • I usually preffer Junichi over Ryan, but in this he sounds weird.

  • I fully prefer Kanemaru-dono over Drummond. You can't deny it - DRUMMOND F***ING SUCKED A**! And I mean it. Kanemaru FTW!

  • Daww, come on, Drummond wan't that bad, well, he did kinda suck in Sonic adventure 1, but in SA2 he was fine, and in Sonic heroes, decent but he seemed to had degraded a little though.

  • OK, I'll admit that Drummond DID improve in Sonic Heroes... BUT that game sucked anyway.

  • if u hadent happen to notice theres always cursing and stuff like that in japanse versons, lucky japan XD

BTW Some of the words are swiched up when SEGA of amarica made our verson ex:

Japanse verson: "I'd feel better running"

English verson: "I like running better"

  • they also took out "hell" in What the...! on the our version... why do american children have to care about not swearing?! we have whats called freedom of speech god damnit!

  • American children could care less.

It's the parents of those children who are up in arms.

  • Although the subtitles say "What the hell" the guy is actually only saying "Wha...?"

  • yeah i dont think japanse know that our curse words are bad because japanse sonic says a lot of quick words in english like "cool" and "go" and "speed up" and another thing he says is "shit" witch in the english one they change to shoot

  • Yeh, seeing as how Shadow pulled off cussing SO greatly.

  • @PIKACHU49386 in the american version of SADX when the pyramid (spire, whatever) comes out of the ground in mystic ruins jungle, sonic HIMSELF says WTH

  • @PIKACHU49386

    Hell is a swear word?

    WHAT?

  • lol ya

  • old shoes

  • The man in the plane also did Sam Speed's voice.

  • lol so thats why in the game the guy says "What The ...." XD

  • and i definatly like the way sonics voice sounds like in english(not the way the words are, the actual sound of the voice)

  • Well actually, the japanese version is more profain then the english one. Watch the japanese version of Sonic X, same story. And yeah, Ryan Drummond was the best voice actor for Sonic :) to bad that they replaced it with the 4kids cast ): But Sonic's japanese voice is good to.

  • @leroyeffertz ... good to what??? lol kidding

  • @leroyeffertz they change thr voice for sonic colors

  • lol who would have thought that theyd think of making the eperson in the helicopter say what the hell i na kids game lol

  • This isn't called prototype at all

it's called BETA for those of you

    who didnt know

  • Sonic still doesn't have his SOAP shoes in this cutscene in the final SA2... If you want proof I'll make a video.

  • Bullshit!

  • Um, I'll make a video then.

  • PROTO

    "I'd feel better running !!"

    FINAL

    "I like running better!"

    Lolz.

  • Quite the nasally voice Kanemaru-san used for that prototype. Still cute, though.

  • i wonder y sega didnt keep sonics shoes normal

  • They probably gave Sonic the Soapshoes because they introduced Sonic's grind ability in Sonic Adventure 2. But he didn't have them in Sonic Heroes or other later games so maybe they just wanted to change his design a little or something... I don't know really :P

  • It's a "commercial" of the soapshoes. Sega and SOAP made an contract. But, it didn't went so well, and now, sonic grinds with normal shoes

  • notice how with the SOAP shoes his shoes' models are the exact same model as Shadow's shoes? Shadow's are based on Sonic's soap shoes but as recolors, when Sonic wnet back to normal, there'd be no reason for Shadow's shoes to change since it's what he had awakening, so they kept the design, but becuz it was no longer like Sonic's, the shape started changing. Personally, I think they looked better smooth, sleek, and cuvred, now they're all box shaped.

  • @leroyeffertz soap is the brand of shoes. they are used for grinding. sega made a deal with them to include soap shoes in the game.

  • @leroyeffertz Sega was promoting the Soapshoes to earn money (from what i researched), and the grind ability wasn't Sega's plans to keep it, but they looks it fits perfect for Sonic so they just keep it, those that answer your question?

  • @supersonic247 advertisement. 'nuff said.

  • @supersonic247 cuz Soap paid them

  • @supersonic247 sponsership. SEGA advertise SOAP SEGA get money.
