yes they will be reopening memorial day weekend of 2009 and passholders for the year will have an extended 6 months added to their anual pass so dont worry about not getting to go and yes as far as i know the tickets will be considerably cheaper and has anyone noticd that no one in myrtle beach likes hrp

this was the 1st season & they've declared bankruptcy already? looks like w/an enterprise such as Hard Rock they would've hit hard, fast & solid. i was surprised at the low level of mktg in NC. maybe PR influenced things. it's the 1st season, everyone knows a theme park gets better w/time. i hope they've got the stuff to come back next yr. i want to visit this w/my cousin from Baltimore. we missed our annual beach trip this year. i had it on the top of our 'to do' list for next yr.

The Hard Rock Theme Park in Myrtle Beach just declared bankrupcy and closed its doors after being open only 6 months. Maybe it wasn't the replacement for the Pavillion that they thought it would be. The Pavillion Nostalgia Park is better even though it is mostly kiddy rides.

i rode this once and quit it immediately this does nothing for thrill seekers but its a pleasant ride for eagles fans and the flame inferno at the end will make you bald

Its not about the coasters really, the shows and theming make the park what it is. The price is about the same as other regional attractions...

Believe it or not, this video doesn't do the ride a bit of justice. I was really surprised by how much I ended up enjoying it.  Probably only the second or third Vekoma I've ever found worthy of a reride...

i went to myrtle beach 3/15/08 to the like 23rd and idk but i think it was opening, never made it there, this is a great attraction along with the nascar speedpark (had major fun there, especially when some jackass decides to race violently... i showed him haha)

NICE! Finally! But ThemeParkSushi, can you please help me out with this. I am addicted to coasters. (Obviously you know if you've seen my videos). But Midnight Rider is one I can not understand. The two lift hills- are they both used during one ride? Or is it two seperate coasters, just named as one (Rilling Thunder, American Eagle, Chiller)? Please answer back.

Both lift hills are part of the ride (nothing unusual there for a mine train). What's not clear here is which lift hill is the first one and which lift hill is the second one. Because the coaster was running the entire time I was there, I never could figure out which hill was which.

The shorter one is the first lift. It's a Vekoma 785m model with a few modifications. Similar to Calamity Mine at Walibi Belgium.

Close. Midnight Rider has a bit different track layout after the first lift thatn Calamity Mine. Otherwise, they are the same.

No it's not. It allows the ride to fit in a smaller profile while extending the ride time and length. Plus, it allows up to 4 trains if the blocking is done right, greatly increasing capacity.
