@Headshothorror4488 yeah hes definetly wrong near about all of my machines except one has a 16 gauge rear spring...and just so you know,eikon recomends starting with a 16ga on all setups,then if you wnat extra tension moving up.....

@tattootraining, well that dont matter but if u must know , u said that a machine cant run with a 17 16g front or back spring on it , EIKION has the GREEN MONSTER MACHINE witch is pre tunned for PROS like that, or a home build, CHECK for your self they explain how it is set and runs when they tune them, now u know!!!! i use Intenze ZUPER black for lines, tribal-crap and my own shade-mixes.. Works good.

And for colors, i'm stuck with old M.SharpZ, they got new ones thou, need to try them myself, some "easy-flow" shit... can't say nothing about them for now.

I bought a traditional tattoo machine, I'd like to start practicing before I start a course in a couple of months. I have this practice skin and I have already figured out how to set the machine up. I've watched many tutorials and stuff but I have this problem.....sparks come out the screw bit, its only at 8V but I don't know why this is happening, I've tried adjusting it many ways but.....sparks! can anyone help me?

that power supply is a crutch . your armature bar is too far out that means your tension is wrong and thus you run at 8v when it should be 5v . that machine nor your thumb knows the spring tension. also you have a shader front and the rear is a liner spring ...... other than that its all good

@Midnightblaze420 Well , there is no set tension # , but i would do a 300 330 , this way you can get a softer hit , as little as posable, keep in mind the ruber band , needle and gromet all affect the tension also, try different stuff out, next generation sets em 110 hz 45 to 50% duty cycle , get a meter, this way its not all a estimate , you want to be on point not close , a mistake most scratchers do is listen to u tibw teachers , there on here for a reason lol , pm me

@Tattoogirl1nonly Ok , well watch em again loll , i am not sure but i think he uses a shader longstroke machine,a nickle or 2 nickle gap, low tension to medium tension, big mag needle, try a mag with medium tension , 350 if u hav no gauge just feel it out run it feel it run it , so on , maybe a 2 nickle gap from coil to a bar if no gauge , unless u hav a 18g back spring , i can estimate it , what springs do u have ? and intenze for 100% black 3 blacks he uses,
