  • This is so completely relaxing...Clair De Lune and Twilight combined makes for one awesome video haha

  • @mermaidd0lly the first time I heard this song was in Frankie & Johnny w/Al Pachino & Michelle Pfiffer. (not just background music, but the actors referenced Debussy & the name of the song.

  • @MrKaaskop5 Of course Clair de Lune is more beautiful than Twilight. Is there really any other option? Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I have no qualms about that. But I have mine and it's that Twilight series is highly offensive to women (Bella is dependent on a possessive boyfriend and is a weak character), the writing is fairly awful and seems like she just used a thesaurus without understanding the context of word choice, and is basically her fantasy as a hormonal teenager.

  • It was also in Oceans Eleven or thirteen!!! So do you all hate it more or less? :)

  • @TheSugah1 Ocean's Eleven's fan base doesn't consist of annoying, empty-headed pre-teen and teenage girls. Seriously! We get it, they think Edward is hot. Now let's move on to something else, please.

  • yes. the first time i heard this song was when it was in twilight, but thats not a bad thing. music is music. twilight didnt ruin the song, it made it more popular for more age groups. the song also made twilight better, considerin it was a scene in the movie. dont hate just cause people like it because it was in twilight. if it wasnt, many would have never heard this incredible piece of music. besides, ALL MOVIES HAVE MUSIC! so this song deserves to be in twilight.

    Clair de lune && twilight<3

  • @KaraBatesMusic On the contrary, I would say that Twilight doesn't deserve to have this music. Clair de Lune is one of the most well known pieces of (classical) music, it doesn't really need any more popularity. But if others get into classical music because of Twilight, well, then something good came from the books/movies. It certainly isn't going to be good literature or film quality.

  • @obiwannotanikan Well., on the contrary, is publicity good for a song? yes. now, i do enjoy this type of classical music, and Clair de Lune adds a very good tone to the specific scene in Twilight. Do you even know what that scene was? Probably not. CLair de Lune was not playing in the background to enhance the scene, it was the main focus of the scene, Bella was looking at Edward's music, and played this song. She was shocked that he listened to it. Then they bean dancing to the song.

  • Yes, the publicity is good, I suppose. And of course, I have no idea what scene it is in. I refuse to watch the movie. The few seconds I saw of it made me face-palm several times. The movie doesn't ruin the song for me or anything. I just find it kind of irksome when people say that it's the song from Twilight. Seriously?

  • i love this song xx

  • fucking shite montage of a shite film. ruins one of the best pieces of music ever written

  • as i was reading this book i had no idea what this song was then my sweet boyfriend pulled this out of his cd collection and i fell deeper in love with him and the book

  • Clair de Lune - Twilight sheet music (easy) available on Pianodots website !

  • Partition Clair de Lune - Twilight (version facile) disponible sur le site Pianodots !

  • Such a beautiful song in such a crappy movie... What has this world come down to?...

  • @alban73100 its not in it

  • this is such a beautiful song!!!

whoever hates this i am going to track u down and torture u until u change your mind

    jk

but whoever doesnt like this has problems or major issues

  • By the way, nice montage and tribute, and the musical selection is perfect, imho.

    good job

  • Why do people feel it's necessary to attack what they disagree with? Everyone has different tastes. Just because someone elses tastes don't align with yours, doesn't make them "gay", or stupid, or wrong. You needn't be a venomous jackass to express your opinion, in fact you'll find people will be more open to your opinion if you express it in a calm and rational, and respectful manner. All you get when you attack someone, is the same in return. Is that so hard to understand? Try to act civilized.

  • hey, I like Twilight and this song, and in my opinion they are both great, and everyone has their own opinions. Excuse me, but I happen to like twilight!

  • @MrKaaskop5

its not "clair de lune from twilight" its clair de lune that twilight came and fucked with.

  • Twilight = fucking gay.

  • wow.

  • life, love,

  • Relate the song to the book, and this is what you get... beauty..

  • brutteeeeeeeeeeeeeeee merdeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!povero debussy;sprecato in un film d merda di questo tipo!!!!

  • magnifique ..........;

  • So much work put into this beautiful song, where is it. on a stupid HORRIBLE movie. have the teenage drama teens watching the movie don't even hear the song, they too busy searching for a deeper meaning to the movie when there isn't one.

  • @TheMagicBolt yeah, they're trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear by putting a magnificent piece of art by Debussy with a piece of ****

  • una musica così paradisiaca infangata da un film così BANALE!

  • ich finde die Musik so schön

  • Hey, if Twilight is introducing people to Debussy then by all means Twihards, go atter.

  • @rileymarlow

Mmmm ... yes ... but one does not feed Filet Mignon to alley cats, does one?

Still ... I reluctantly concede the point.

  • lube this sonq.......it make me smiley BIG(:

  • This wonderful composure doesn't deserve to be in the likes of the pathetic Twilight saga. It is far too sophisticated and too much of a work of genius. I 'm sure the tweens of the world have never heard of Debussy until those horrid movies came out.

  • @lmo61210 i'm guessing you have never read nor watched any of the movies...

  • @lmo61210 I can't believe that people haven't heard of this song. It's unthinkable! I love the song, will never watch nor read the series.

  • FUCK TWILIGHT

    THIS SONG SHOULDN'T BE HERE

  • This song is beautiful! Just bought it on my iPod(:

  • @MsRubyAngel1 Thanks! That's my point exactly! I mean, it's gorgeous! And people, everybody is going to either hate or like or love Twilight, and everyone should have their own personal opinion! I mean, can we have a little individuality here?? We can respect each others opinions!

  • At least more people have heard it now.

  • Debussy is Vomiting in his Grave!!!!

  • @cinemaniac1127 People like you are stupid, like, really. You look up this video, specifically knowing it was a twilight video, from the title. and It's a lovely piece of music. People like you have got to accept that twilight has fans... even if you don't...

  • @PiperPhoebePaigeLeo I didn´t look for it knowing that it was on twiligth, but knowing it was from Debussy, I wasn´t aware clair de lune was used in crapligth until I saw this video in the options...and I stick to my opinion that Debussy would be sickened by seeing that his work is being used in a movie with no cultural or emotional (a predictable love story similar to many other soap opera like stories, the only diference is the so called "vampires") value.

  • @PiperPhoebePaigeLeo oh by the way did you knew Debussy before hearing clair de lune in twiligth???...i mean have you heard La mer or Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune or your ignorance just made you like this just for being "twiligth´s soundtrack"???

  • @PiperPhoebePaigeLeo I'm sorry, but if it isn't bad enough people overuse the word "like" in speech, there's really no excuse to be using it in writing. But I do agree with you. I love the music though. I don't mind that Twilight has fans, but when people start saying what a great writer Stephanie Meyer is, I feel the need to intervene.

  • Culture snobs once again decide what music can be used in which movie, why don't you ck out Classical music used in movie, what piece do you think is the top choice to be used in movies, Carnina Burana, and guess which movie was among the top picks to have a run in art house movies, Natural Born Killers, wow that sound real arty, Mozart's Requiem was used in Xmen, Hungarian Rhapsody in Roger Rabbit, instead of complaining, think of that one person who may be interested in classical music. SNOB

  • i think that people must prohibit at crap like twilight to use music like this...

    American culture is only shit.

  • Comment removed

  • If you think Clair de Lune is heavenly, wait till you here this......click on my name and go to Part 4 of the video to listen to Debussy's Canope. All comments welcomed.

  • I haven't watched or read Twilight, but I'm glad it brought this gorgeous piece to the spotlight. It's so relaxing and beautiful. Amazing!

  • @parataylor thats what im lookin for! the point that twilight has brought thousands to love this beautiful music! not the fact that everyones only recognizing this as ''the twilight song'' i mean who cares if a romantic movie chose a beautful song

  • che merda usare questa splendida musica x un film cosi cesso

  • Culture snobs ,what bosh, classical music has been used in many, many popular movies, I think it is great to exposes audiences to music they might not otherwise hear.. Lighten up will you. Google Classical music in movies, you might learn something instead of criticizing something used in a popular movie. Notice that the movies aren't all art house theaters, in fact the top 10 are used in some very non-art house movies., Take a chill pill, DeBussy might be happy his music in a popular movie.

  • @RachelPhilly you obviously did never read a bio on Debussy he had a very bad temper.

  • will always and forever love this song, and debussy :)

  • <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  • Hate that just because this song was in twilight it suddenly became theirs. If Debussy was alive hed be pissed

  • Love the song but not the movie.. :)

  • Ugh. Twilight ruins everything. Even this beautiful song! And I would know beautiful music, I play piano. But Twilight is just horrible. It's soo cheesy. >>

  • @Surachii U are soo right! Twilight is a very bad movie...

    Amazing song tho..

  • @PoSunKA Haha the running scene was hillarious xDD

  • u know guys, at first, i didnt read twilight, and i didnt watch this vampire movie. BUT, the first time i saw advertisement of this movie, you know what i thought? this is really a face of vampire (edward cullen). the chose the right person for edward cullen character. only this year that i started reading twilight and watching the movies.

  • What a beautiful music!!! I Like so much!!!

  • debussy's music is natural and smooth like not playing with piano. i can feel breeze and claire de lune when listening this song. debussy made a miracle!!

  • I wish it sounded this beautiful when I play it!

  • i love this song!!!

  • Adesso la gente la associa a twilight o a ocean's eleven. Che vergogna, pezzenti.

  • this song is amazing

  • Want to come and see a translation of the poem that originally inspired Debussy to compose this beautiful piece and find out why Stephenie Meyer may have alluded to this poem through the music? Come and visit 'Clair de Lune' on my channel.

  • This piece is only in the movie because Stephanie Meyer had the good taste of letting an 100 year old vampire boy like debussy... Its a beautifull piece, and one of the things I would have seriously hated about this movie if it wasnt in it.

Now, in Oceans Eleven, they use it beter, to emphasis the relaxed state after the robbing. Beautifull piece, but if Stephanie didnt write it down it wouldnt have been in the movie probably. Love her if your so fan about thins beeing in Twilight.

  • brilliant

  • fantastico ! (: lab it ! (:

  • So.... I listen to this music about 346234324930129431258109412747501249124712563232842068324023 times now.

  • who is this performed by? it's a fantastic interpretation; a very dynamic tempo that I would have never imagined suited this piece

  • Claude Debussy

  • that's who composed it, i'm wondering who performed it

  • Claude Debussy wrote the original piece, if that's what you were asking.

  • i'm wondering who performed it; who, in this video, is actually playing the piano

  • "Paul Crossley" iTunes is your friend xD

  • oh man thank you, but sadly iTunes and I don't get along

  • @Sgtsquirrel

agreed. couldn't have worded it better.

    amazing music to crap film.

  • Seriously if people don't like Twilight why are they watching videos with the word 'Twilight' in the title?

Fucking assholes need to get jobs.

    They are good books.

  • Well, for example, i was searching debussy - claire de lune and this video appeared as well so i wondered how this performance might sound alothough i'm not a fan(not at all) of twilight, so maybe it's the music not the movie. and only because someone doen't like sth that does not mean they don't want to be informed, u can't not like something without knowing anything about it!so don't be hating

  • what the fuck, since when was a classic instrumental put into a soundtrack of a retarded movie?

  • It doesn't belong to Twilight. Shheesh, everyone does that everytime anything appears on twilight.

  • @silverkitsune95 im sick of ppl bitching about girls who hear this on twilight and love it... so what who cares where they heard it from point is they heard it and they like it and it doesnt matter if they only recognize it as "the twilight song"

and ppl have the rite to like and follow twilight cos its a beautiful, romantic and amazing book... no wonder they chose this song

  • @MsRubyAngel1 whatever. I just think Vampire romances are sappy.

sheesh, ya don't have to type on how bitchy my comment was. That was just my opinion.

  • @silverkitsune95

so true. even yiruma's River flows in you is misunderstood cuz of twilight..

  • I Love Debussyyyy!!

  • Never watched Twilight. Never WILL watch Twilight. Don't care much FOR Twilight. But it does have an O.K. book collection and a pretty awesome soundtrack. (I have to admit that.)

  • No, you don't...

  • @SweetlySerene you are so stupid i love twilight and i have friends who will help me if this turns into any thing

  • @shepierce i love twilight as well!

  • @shepierce What were you planning on doing?? Getting his account banned because he Voiced his opinion? This is the internet :/

  • @SweetlySerene

    Hell yeah it's craptastic!

  • to all of you talking about this being in twilight- it was in the book, which is 100xs better than the movie, besides, does it really matter? its a beautiful piece of music anyway.

  • @Juggalette6661 i totally aqree with yhew!!!!

  • @Juggalette6661

i think they picked perfect songs to play in movie like in the book it describes how bella wonders how one set of hands can be playing when he shows her bellas lullaby when she goes to his house for the first time. and when i watched the movie after reading the book i was like no joke " HOW CAN SOMEBODY PLAY THAT HAS TO BE RECORDED OR SOMETHING!!" so that goes to show i guess

and even if this song wasn't described in the book it was still played perfectly in the movie

  • @Alicerox123456 How can it be recorded if it isn't played? I'm confused. Clair de Lune is for advanced piano players, for sure. I can play it, although not perfectly. It's very possible. You use the sustain pedal. You never have to stretch more than one octave on one hand. Playing it isn't that difficult, it's actually reading the music as it has a difficult key signature. I'm sure this wasn't replayed for the film. It's one of the most famous songs of all time and has many recordings.

  • @obiwannotanikan it helps if you can learn the music off by heart

  • @nozzlecebon1 Definitely. I read it and made sure I knew it enough and played through it enough slowly to be able to memorize it.

  • @Juggalette6661

it also shows how edward loves music and plays a big part od many things

  • I LIKE IT

  • U LOVE IT!

  • WE LOVE IT!

  • Lol :)

  • this song a little bit lonely....make me miss my x bf

  • love this "song"

    love Twilight

    goes perfect together!

  • i get wot ur saying about people say all the time about this being in twilight (which i so happen 2 luv) but i think it inroduces alot of people 2 this sort of music. is nice and quite peaceful. i heard it in the movie and actually liked it. which is strange coz i listen to heavy metal and songs with all out screaming in lol

  • I do agree with the comments about Debussy and Twilight, although it's still a good thing that the film is helping the music to become more widely spread among different generations.

  • ito yung pampatulog ko :)

  • you could look at it tht way I suppose. OR....you could be happy tht teenagers have discovered this ;)

  • I agree, sort of. I mean that's not a very efficient way of promoting music appreciation. It'd be like...once every couple of decades a teenager-oriented film (which, against all odds, includes one piece of classical music in the soundtrack) comes out and they discover one more classical composition???

  • It is a shame that so many people only know this piece of music because it was in a silly movie about teenage romance between a vampire and human. Debussy's piano masterpiece has been around a long time and will still remain long after Twilight has faded from memory.

  • I agree. It annoys me when I play Clair De Lune and people say "That's from Twilight!" I reply "No it isn't. but it was used in it" then I explain a bit about Debussy and what the title means and how the music gives the impression of moonlight and they hopefully get some more interest in the romantic/impressionistic style of piano music.

  • I agree Sam. I would recommend that fans of the so called "Twilight theme song" check out one of my personal faves "Liebestraum"-- esp.the 1921 version by Olga Samaroff...and Twilight fans would probably also enjoy Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata"...I could go on all day recommending specific songs as so many of them are great works of art!

  • Love moonlight sonata ever since i was little :)

  • I'm guessing it falls on deaf ears at least 85% of the time

I know. I try and do the same with music

"Hey that was in an advert...."

"NO IT WASN'T!!...well yes it was....but it existed before that you gimboid"

usually how it pans out for me

  • sounds like new love........perfect

  • just saying... there is a difference between a song and a piece. A piece is played and a song is sang. My professor (who has a doctorate in music) ranted about this the other day. This is a piece by technical terms.

  • I agree with your professor lol. I'm always ranting on about the differences between songs and pieces of music haha :-D

  • Oh how I wish you were literate and knew how to spell, it would really make your hatred matter a tiny bit.

  • Perfect

  • ive been searching for this piece for FOREVER. and when i finally find the title, i youtube it for the track and get links to twilight. i feel ridiculously offended and stupid. which makes no sense. i'm 16 and am sick of this obsession with twilight.

  • What an insult to this master piece, that it is put in such a bad movie

  • i am italian i dont see the movie(classic usa stupid film for alzeimher yong people) i hope only that claude can sleep good tonioght

  • essa musica e linda demais

  • Rather than tear into this for them putting it on THIS movie. I applaud them for exposing a whole new generation to such a great PIECE of music!

Debussy was a GENIUS, this piece is inspiring, and timeless!

  • Ugh, I need sleep. Let me fix that first part...

Rather than tearing into them for putting Claire De Lune on THIS movie* lol... There...At any rate, not into the movies, but it is nice that this piece was used. Adds something that is needed!.

  • I hate how people only like this piece because of twilight. uhg.

  • yea unfortunately cause this movie suckkksss

  • I do like twilight, and the movie. But I don't like how people only "love" this piece because a cullen likes it. It's unreal and stupid. "Claire de lune" is to great a piece to be degraded and claimed to be loved after hearing it one time,

  • yea this piece is definitely amazing

  • Same with Wuthering Heights :(

  • I love Wuthering Heights. :)

  • Me too. I recently heard though that they're going to re-release it with a "Bella & Edward's favourite book" printed beneath the title. :(

  • At least the book will be read, even if it's to mindless people.

  • Why the fuck do you people keep saying "song song song" ?

This is not a SONG, it's a PIECE.

  • Comment removed

  • No.

  • wow... this goes rlly fast... compare the speed of tht to my vid of clair de lune

  • bad move. good song, definitely not so much at all written for the movie though.

  • I agree ^^

  • In 200years nobody will remember bellas lullaby, but i bet they will remember this masterpiece.

  • More like in 2 years.

  • This isn't a song. It's a piece. I love this version! Debussy is amazing! The movie isn't that good though.

  • this song was not written for twilight, i heard it was written in 1888.

  • hah i like maddi3bab33's comment... thats pretty funny

  • both the movie and the song is awesome!!!

  • the movie is georgeous the song absolutely romantic

    5 stars

  • beautiful beautiful piece, great slideshow, and twilight is a good movie :)

  • Beautiful :)

  • I like Debussy.

The Twilight movie? Not so much...

    I had such high expectations...

  • this piece fits twilight perfectly and i lovew this video

  • This is one of Debussy's best pieces, but it's not his only good one--if you like this, check out the rest of "Suite Bermasque", and the "Children's Corner Suite", especially the piece "The Snow is Dancing"...I don't really enjoy Twilight, but I'm glad they included this song in the film. More people need to be exposed to the genius of composers like Debussy. :-)

  • i love this piece and twighlight is great-i sure i wish i was bella

    x

  • I love Clair de Lune.

    Beautiful Peaceful Evocative <3

    And I love Twilight :)

Great images with this video by the way

  • beautiful , so beautiful, so much emotion in it, i wish i could play like that, i'm glad i read twilight, otherwise i wouldn't have know about this wonderful song

  • i prefer bellas lullaby

  • this is a great slide show

  • Music is an ideal way of dreaming. this is a beautiful example of it. It can evoke the most beautiful or complex feelings.

  • I like more the version in the film

  • I love this version! ♥

  • beatiful song i LOVED it in twilight when they where dancing in edwards room sigh i wish i was hes bella [team edward]
