In tonight's episode of Buck Dharma, Paranormal Detective, dozens of townspeople have vanished, and the trail leads Buck to an all girl catholic school with a dark secret! But can he resist temptation long enough to unwravel the mystery of vampires that walk in the day and feed upon mortal flesh?
OK, TIME, for an update on restrictions. Now, another company is not allowing YouTube users to put certain songs in playlists. This just happened with two other BOC songs I like. Thought you might wanna NO.
This video is hilarious Al Bouchard playing a hi-hat like a drum the entire time, the vampiric catholic school girls, everthing just looks so kistchy and odd. Nothing like this out there today.
@MegaDarkfriend Yeah amongst many other, but I think people who love muzic and guitarplaying really appreciate him and the band! If you serious 'bout music and guitar, you can't avoid him, and if you still do, you're not a guitarist!
1990guitarmaniac , If you are,or ever were the victim of any form of child abuse...i can tell you this one thing..You'd definately sayI HAte This Dam'ned Song!
@Freyja1133: Actually, musically, I think Blue Oyster Cult caught the creepiness of Joan Crawford and set it to music extremely well. My sympathy for your horrible childhood however.
@NickB1967 It's ok,Nick..I'm almost over it..But there are things that My parents put me through that i'll never forgive them for ( alcoholism is one)
This is very classy. The opening piano piece by Allen Lanier reminds me of classical music. This song , Veterans of the Psychic Wars, Vengeance the Pact and title track are my favorite songs off of Fire of Unknown Origin
I love this song but this video is fucking awful. So many horrible film students made so many horrible videos based on their ideas, and the art form wasn't advanced enough. Hard to believe I used to be glued to MTV in the early days.. these were just very poorly done.
This blows ass! For a band that has wrote some of the best rock and roll. This is nothing but a wierd al Yankovic video and song. Eric bloom (the jeff lynn look-a-like) was the singer i didn't like in the band. The rest were much better. Buck should have sung more. And there is a standard skid and crash sound effect in this that is from everything from porky pig to KISS "detroit rock city". It's a BOC Bomb!!!
You know I like a couple of BOC song, enough to make 1 album. To be fair I really tried. I saw them in Germany with Aldo Nova opening and Aldo really really blew BOC off the stage. I will say that both bands are in the where are they now era. I wouldn't turn the radio off because BOC was playng but they weren't my fav band. They wasn't the worse. I do like Buck.
I've had this song in my collection ever since the album came out in 81 or 82, and this is the first time I've ever seen the video. BOC vid didn't get TV time this side of the pond.
Christina was the little girl Joan Crawford [movie star from the late -20s to -50s] had adopted (along with a little boy). After Joan's death in the late -70s, the adult Christina wrote a novel, "Mommie Dearest", that was about growing up in the Crawford house and being subjected to verbal and physical abuse from Joan.
@WTFunkyStuff Well my friend, most of BOC songs are cryptic and they have many points of view or ways to interpret them. I wouldn't dare to try to explain this one due to get some bad critics :-) of religious people.
@refriaire Yes, thank god there was integrity back in the 70's and 80's, no Corporate Rock or payola or anything like that..... I hate to break it to you but BOC is the epitome of corporate rock of that era...
EVERYONE thinks there era stinks and thinks the past was some golden age, or people think all they have to do push enough people around and a future golden era will be made...
I believe the phrase "same shit, different day" applies...
@toolkien Dude..does it really matter? They rock, as do many other bands. Some people may just prefer the old days and it's music. While some prefer vice versa or a mix of the two. Either way, everyone is different. Live and let live, my friends.
@refriaire Money is all anyone is and has ever really been interested in. I'm sure in your time there were just as many "marketing puppets" as today, but there are always a few bands that want to be free of the main stream and make their own way through the music industry.
This has got to be my favorite music video of all time. It's a total affront to feminism, and about as politically incorrect as can be imagined. I'd love to know where to get those cool glasses Eric Bloom was wearing.
So, this is definatly one of the most scariest songs I have ever heard, but why is the music video sunny and by a pool with Eric, Buck, Allen, Albert and Joe wearing t-shirts??
@Beatlebug60 Actually, I find this song both creepy and humorous. Joan Crawford was known for lots of B-grade movies in her prime, mostly slasher and horror genre, and Mad Magazine did a handful of riffs on them. Plus if you read the lyrics, the plotline in this song is just like a B movie. You need to watch more old pop culture. ;)
Great song ..even though they cashed in on Godzilla and Joan Crawford, who was an ugly bitch. NO WIRE HANGERS! Faye Dunaway was much prettier than the real Joan but an awesome performance nonetheless.
For the longest time, I only knew a few of BOC's songs. Then I started to buy their music. Eric Bloom is now one of my all time favorite rock vocalists. He's got so much character in his voice.
@gtrefghuk It's an account based off of the book "Mommie Dearest" describing the events in which a mother abused her children, and neglected them due to alcohol abuse. And to the rest of the community, while Yes Metallica does have a bad habit of using too much distortion and adapts it to a harder style, it's because that's what they're known for. You won't change anything by saying "Metalica suks and cant cuver this sawng".

That nutso daughter just never had the backbone of the woman who raised her and probably has more hate in her little pinky than Joan ever had. It's amazing the picture one can paint about a childhood. Joan could have cashed in several times about her own childhood, but she didn't, she saw the value in entertaining an audience, not throwing them a bunch of personal stuff to make money.
