  • Eric was one skinny guy back then! Not as much as me maybe! LOL Looks like he's filled out though, in the past 30 years. lol

  • I love the sound effects in the middle. LOLZ

  • Great Classic of BOC, Just a great Tune

  • In tonight's episode of Buck Dharma, Paranormal Detective, dozens of townspeople have vanished, and the trail leads Buck to an all girl catholic school with a dark secret! But can he resist temptation long enough to unwravel the mystery of vampires that walk in the day and feed upon mortal flesh?

  • their eyes have turned the color of frozen meat...what a great line.

  • This video could if been a little more campy, would of gone with the song better. Otherwise, great song, loved it!

  • This song needs more cowbell...

  • Joan Crawford has risen from the grave.

  • HAAAA! Love it! I've always loved the song. Finally I got to see their creepy video for it. Awesome. Thanks.

  • Great song. BOC is soooo underrated.

  • My wife is in this video!

  • This song absolutely fantastic !!!!

  • Creepiest video for it's time. And damn great song!!!

  • Don't listen to this alone in the dark. Talk about super creepy.

  • 20 People Must Love Wire Hangers

  • Boy, they've really gone corporate rock, haven't they?

  • @robin56 NO

  • Most underated BAND .

  • @nemtall you are very right.

  • possibly the most underrated song of all time.

  • 5:04 Don't Turn Your Back doesn't come in

  • OK, TIME, for an update on restrictions. Now, another company is not allowing YouTube users to put certain songs in playlists. This just happened with two other BOC songs I like. Thought you might wanna NO.

  • dude man kick ass

  • Joan Crawford was a sadistic Bitch. MOMMY DEAREST likes coat hangers.

  • Great song and video.

  • This video is hilarious Al Bouchard playing a hi-hat like a drum the entire time, the vampiric catholic school girls, everthing just looks so kistchy and odd. Nothing like this out there today.

  • Is it just me, or is Buck Dharma the best, but most under-rated guitarist of all time?

  • @MegaDarkfriend he's on that list

  • @MegaDarkfriend Yeah amongst many other, but I think people who love muzic and guitarplaying really appreciate him and the band! If you serious 'bout music and guitar, you can't avoid him, and if you still do, you're not a guitarist!

    Cheerz/MazterGuitarz

  • @MegaDarkfriend One of, at least.

  • Anone else also notice that the drummer was just jammin on one symbol? Dudes got skills.

  • I woke up with this song in my head. It was playing in my dream.

  • i love this video with the little baby teenage girls with there white milky thighs

  • just watched a Joan Crawford Documentary

  • haha love this song, especially: Christina

    Mother's home

    Christina

    Come to mother

    Christina

    creepy!

  • @cuzitsnecessary: Indeed. The real life Joan Crawford was no less creepy.

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes It's ok...I'm almost over it anyway

I use my lyrics to help me get my bottled up feelings out

    You're welcome

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes It's ok...I'm almost over it anyway

I use my lyrics to help me get my bottled up feelings out

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes Yes she did

this is coming from someone who is a victim of child abuse

  • 1990guitarmaniac , If you are,or ever were the victim of any form of child abuse...i can tell you this one thing..You'd definately sayI HAte This Dam'ned Song!

  • @Freyja1133: Actually, musically, I think Blue Oyster Cult caught the creepiness of Joan Crawford and set it to music extremely well. My sympathy for your horrible childhood however.

  • @NickB1967 It's ok,Nick..I'm almost over it..But there are things that My parents put me through that i'll never forgive them for ( alcoholism is one)

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes Christina crawford was adopted ilegally by Joan Crawford

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes I read the book mommie dearest and the answer is YES !!!!!

  • i love this damn song!

  • This is very classy. The opening piano piece by Allen Lanier reminds me of classical music. This song , Veterans of the Psychic Wars, Vengeance the Pact and title track are my favorite songs off of Fire of Unknown Origin

  • this and Veteran of the Psychic Wars are probably the 2 best BOC songs

  • MR. Stupid here: Will someone explain the video to me? does not compute.

    Does not make sense.

  • @spoildn8410 joan crawford was a horror movie(joan crawford has risen from her grave)and so,the video is about zombies

  • @1990guitarmaniac The movie Mommy Dearest about Joan Crawford who was heartless, not even to

mention abusive. Think she was played by Faye Dunaway. That video is strange, man.

  • @spoildn8410 yes it is....actually i havent watched the movie...my father told me about ;-) i am just 12 years old

  • @1990guitarmaniac Well, bud, watch out for those girls who go around claiming their lipstick

is loaded. And if their mom is mean, well just means usually, they don't break out the plastic

    whenever she likes.

    .

  • i remember hearing this in the car with my mom when i was little

  • I 'd like to thank BOC for bringing the subject of child abuse out in to the open

Personally ,I refuse to listen to the song and watch the video...Because it hits to close to home with me

  • what the fuck did I just watch? XD

  • I love this song but this video is fucking awful. So many horrible film students made so many horrible videos based on their ideas, and the art form wasn't advanced enough. Hard to believe I used to be glued to MTV in the early days.. these were just very poorly done.

  • @heykyleinsf: I think back then *anything* set to music was just so novel that a lot of video crap was just overlooked.

  • Been a fan since 1976 when I was seven years old.

  • BOC rules!

  • This blows ass! For a band that has wrote some of the best rock and roll. This is nothing but a wierd al Yankovic video and song. Eric bloom (the jeff lynn look-a-like) was the singer i didn't like in the band. The rest were much better. Buck should have sung more. And there is a standard skid and crash sound effect in this that is from everything from porky pig to KISS "detroit rock city". It's a BOC Bomb!!!

  • Saw them at the county fair in Contra Costa County CA.. They flew in, played awesome sets at 7 and 9 (saw both), and flew out. They were AWESOME!!

  • Epic piano is epic

  • 1st heard this song on the radio as I was driving my girl (who I wed a year later) out to dinner, back when it was brand new.

  • My first Blue oyster cult song and I loved it

  • I think Rob Zombie should cover this song and make it heavier.

  • Holy shit! How come no one ever told me there are videos for this and "Take Me Away"? Come on, throw me a fucking bone!!!

  • Ha ha ha ......zombies and vampires! Gotta love Blue Oyster Cult

  • Uno dei miei pezzi preferiti dei Blue O. C. Ha un tiro della miseria... Mitici, venite in Italia!!

  • What an odd video.

  • You know I like a couple of BOC song, enough to make 1 album. To be fair I really tried. I saw them in Germany with Aldo Nova opening and Aldo really really blew BOC off the stage. I will say that both bands are in the where are they now era. I wouldn't turn the radio off because BOC was playng but they weren't my fav band. They wasn't the worse. I do like Buck.

  • Who knows who wrote the piano solo for JOAN CRAWFORD !!! ?? Hint, Hint: It wasn't Allen.

  • you can't beat LIP SYNC !!

  • One of my favorite songs from our great BOC !!

  • I really like this song, and this band, but if others don't like it, such is their right. Why criticize?

  • 19 people think this needs more cowbell

  • let my band buddies here this (rush heads) they loved it

  • I've had this song in my collection ever since the album came out in 81 or 82, and this is the first time I've ever seen the video. BOC vid didn't get TV time this side of the pond.

  • If only they'd had Faye Dunaway make a cameo in this.

  • Comment removed

  • I used to jam on this song cruising to the north shore of O'ahu for a day of shredding waves.

  • Why is Buck playing the piano and not Allen?

  • @supergolfdude That IS Allen on the piano, dude.

  • koooollllll!

  • my favourite BOC song? probably...fantastic!

  • blue oyster cult , in rare form.

  • This isn't evil. Now the shoes are. Evil.\

    /

  • Can somebody please explain the song to me? I love Joan Crawford but I just don't understand the song. Please?

  • @WTFunkyStuff

Part of the greatness of this song is that it can't BE explained! It's just an awesome little way of saying, "Hey, how scary would THIS be?"

I used to listen to this over and over and over on my new little cassette Walkman® in high school. Incredible song.

  • @WTFunkyStuff

    From another source:

Christina was the little girl Joan Crawford [movie star from the late -20s to -50s] had adopted (along with a little boy). After Joan's death in the late -70s, the adult Christina wrote a novel, "Mommie Dearest", that was about growing up in the Crawford house and being subjected to verbal and physical abuse from Joan.

  • @WTFunkyStuff Well my friend, most of BOC songs are cryptic and they have many points of view or ways to interpret them. I wouldn't dare to try to explain this one due to get some bad critics :-) of religious people.

  • 0:53 alan from the hangover

  • @machokyle45 Is it me or does the singer look like Zach Galifianakis, who also played in Hangover?

  • nice touch with the red pillar candle at the end of the video

  • I can't listen to this song, it bothers me!

  • 4:50-Buck Dharma pure feeling!!

  • my favorite BÖC song!!

  • @bm666lol yeah, must be in my top 2 or 3 BOC songs also.loved it when they played this live. a real treat...

  • I wanna make a country remake.

  • For those who never as now took a little time for a couple storys boc sang. f u saw now ur r knctd.. .. .... ...

  • Is that a young Christine Applegate at 4:05?

  • @copokitapo no. i would saw Cristina appelgate would have been 9 or 10 years old when this was made. but it sure looks like it could have been her.

  • @copokitapo She reminds me of the girl who played a young CHristina crawford in Mommie dearest

One of the two movies that I can't watch with out having a bad reaction

  • Back when musicians knew about their art. Not like the marketing puppets of today, just interested in finding new "market segments".

  • @refriaire Yes, thank god there was integrity back in the 70's and 80's, no Corporate Rock or payola or anything like that..... I hate to break it to you but BOC is the epitome of corporate rock of that era...

EVERYONE thinks there era stinks and thinks the past was some golden age, or people think all they have to do push enough people around and a future golden era will be made...

I believe the phrase "same shit, different day" applies...

  • @toolkien Dude..does it really matter? They rock, as do many other bands. Some people may just prefer the old days and it's music. While some prefer vice versa or a mix of the two. Either way, everyone is different. Live and let live, my friends.

  • @toolkien When It comes to BOC I love both eras

BOC is the premiere Metal band !

  • @toolkien no styx can be accused of being a corporate rock abnd... and the accusation would stick!

  • @refriaire exactly :)

  • @refriaire Every generation has said that about the one after it. I am 17 and for what it's worth I agree with you.

  • @refriaire Money is all anyone is and has ever really been interested in. I'm sure in your time there were just as many "marketing puppets" as today, but there are always a few bands that want to be free of the main stream and make their own way through the music industry.

  • More like the "Tools" of today :)

  • @ppaauull1902 The 'Tools' of today can't touch this. They are too busy making masturbation into 'art'

  • This video was shot on the same day as the one for Burnin' For You.

  • This has got to be my favorite music video of all time. It's a total affront to feminism, and about as politically incorrect as can be imagined. I'd love to know where to get those cool glasses Eric Bloom was wearing.

  • This has to be my favorite BOC song.

  • Absolutely awesome. I had no idea there was a video to this. Thanks! I was waiting for it to slide into "Don't turn your back". ;)

  • So, this is definatly one of the most scariest songs I have ever heard, but why is the music video sunny and by a pool with Eric, Buck, Allen, Albert and Joe wearing t-shirts??

  • @Beatlebug60 Actually, I find this song both creepy and humorous. Joan Crawford was known for lots of B-grade movies in her prime, mostly slasher and horror genre, and Mad Magazine did a handful of riffs on them. Plus if you read the lyrics, the plotline in this song is just like a B movie. You need to watch more old pop culture. ;)

  • @tantamounted oh I live off of old movies, but I just found this song more frightening and dark than humorous. I just pictured a darker scene

  • @Beatlebug60 BOC is notorious for their music videos not having to do with their songs.

  • the sky is filled with herds of shivering angels....what a line..

  • Eric Bloom! .. he might be mot.....

  • Joan was the devil incarnate

  • sʞɔoɹ ʇןnɔ ɹǝʇsʎo ǝnןq

  • @NapoleanDollarhyde "blue Oyster Cult " in Russian, I guess

  • @Billyce18 nah just inverted text

  • @NapoleanDollarhyde yeah XD

  • @NapoleanDollarhyde That is sooo cool! how did you do that upside down?

  • Great song ..even though they cashed in on Godzilla and Joan Crawford, who was an ugly bitch. NO WIRE HANGERS! Faye Dunaway was much prettier than the real Joan but an awesome performance nonetheless.

  • Brilliant song and vid, I had to laugh also since, I was one of the unfortunate ones to have spent some time in a Catholic School.

  • Really! Metallica does BOC songs nothing but injustice. Way too loud and distorted!.

  • For the longest time, I only knew a few of BOC's songs. Then I started to buy their music. Eric Bloom is now one of my all time favorite rock vocalists. He's got so much character in his voice.

  • A very bad parody of Electric Light Orchestra

  • @34RLC

They are not parodying ELO you idiot.

  • @34RLC whatever you're on I'll take 2

  • That high hat sure sounds like a snare hahah

  • Great band. But this video is extremley twisted.

  • @gtrefghuk It's an account based off of the book "Mommie Dearest" describing the events in which a mother abused her children, and neglected them due to alcohol abuse. And to the rest of the community, while Yes Metallica does have a bad habit of using too much distortion and adapts it to a harder style, it's because that's what they're known for. You won't change anything by saying "Metalica suks and cant cuver this sawng".

  • @Systemofakornknot Uh... I think you may have clicked on the wrong reply box. I didn't say anything about Metalica.

  • 17 now

  • play it pretty! Then reality! Brooklyn is going crazy! One of the most underrated bands! Get with B.O.C. live!

  • This song is a "cutl classic" get it? huh? huh?

  • Blue Oyster today is very "CULT"

  • Cool piano. Kinda spooky. This song sounded great live.

  • So cool - I haven't heard this in years.

  • Looks like Alex Van Halen on drums.... I always wondered what he did before his brother's band....

  • B.O.C. will make you think about the song. One of the greatest and overlooked bands ever.

  • me like

  • Great tune! one of the best they put out, they were at the top of the game on this LP,,(CD).or(MP3)

  • What I love about BOC:

smart lyrics, brilliant arranging, clever musical tricks (quoting Grieg's "In The Hall Of The Mountain King" near the end is brilliant.)

Wicked sense of humour (..."Christina....Christina,....your mother's home...), I mean,

    really really too much.

The most underated band in the history of rock and roll.

  • Policemen are hiding behing the skirts of little girls, their eyes have turned the color of frozen meat.

  • My fave band of all-time, things just didn't happen for them here in the UK.

Keep on rockin' Eric & Buck !!!!

  • wire hangers? more like tied to the wheels of big Mack trucks boc style

  • Why are the fish not naked?

  • Really! I just posted it on facebook. I wouldn't have thought of it in a million years, though, if I hadn't seen Whatever Happened To Baby Jane on TCM last night.

  • I think the radio stations should play this more often at Halloween time and give "Don't Fear the Reaper" a rest!

  • @AdamsApple1963

amen to that, and throw in Nosferatu as well!

  • @BaileyJim11 Yeah, that one would work...plus, "Monsters," "E.T.I." or, hell, even "Godzilla" for good measure!

  • @AdamsApple1963 radio station DJs are fucking faggots, at least here in America.

  • @AdamsApple1963 great fucking idea this or nosferatu!!!

  • NO MORE WIRE COAT HANGERS! i am not going to tell you again lol

  • One cannot just like BOC. One has to be on their wavelenght. Using a radiotelescope.

  • @spoildn8410 That is the best rationale for being a BOC fan I have ever heard. Well said! Now if we could the Bouchards back on board.....

  • can Not believe there is a video for this!

  • However, I love BOC and give this song and video a big thumbs UPPP!!

  • I love and respect the hard working actress named Joan Crawford who also had a fucked up childhood and overcame. That nutso daughter just never had the backbone of the woman who raised her and probably has more hate in her little pinky than Joan ever had. It's amazing the picture one can paint about a childhood. Joan could have cashed in several times about her own childhood, but she didn't, she saw the value in entertaining an audience, not throwing them a bunch of personal stuff to make money.
