The U.S. also farms Atlantic salmon on the west coast (Pacific Ocean) along with Alaskas yearly 1.5 billion plastic tray, pellet fed reased salmon that are sold as wild. Nice marketing U.S.A.
i really like your video! i find it very productive!! i didn't know the difference between the norweagen or the alaskan salmon!! but thank you so much for the information!! :-)
Awesome! Very informative. I love Salmon and I'm always looking for more knowledge about salmon. Here an idea; I'd like to see you actually open a can of that Salmon and show us how and what you do with it. I buy fresh all the time, only because I've never seen or heard of anyone using that canned Salmon.
wow I never knew any of this about salmon. I always buy farm raised because it is much more affordable. Why do you say it is better to indulge in the pacific salmon on occasion than farm raised salmon often? Can you back that up, or are you making an educated guess?
I love women showing off their cooking abilities on the net. Oh, and yes, I love salmon, trying to get some ideas on how to do it differently than just fry it and slap on salt, pepper and lemon (a classic though).
another great vid dani...if you dont mind i was wondering whats really the source of your information and how easy or difficult it is for you to learn from it on such a large scale of foods? good luck as always! :) keep em coming!
At first the analysis of the location where the salmon was caught was great, but you spent almost 2 minutes on the cooking process. You only salted and peppered one side, and you cooked the salmon so long! The pan you put the salmon in was COLD, it was barely sizzling.
@TheNextGordonRamsay HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH look at yer name, hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh my god LOL! Ok Ramsay, you NEVER EVER cook Salmon in a ''sizzling'' pan, it will scorch and over cook, you dont NEED to season every inch of fish idiot, ever heard of having salmon pink? cunts like you think everything takes ages to cook. Next Gordon Ramsay LMFAO ohhhhh dear, LMAO what does that even mean looooool. P.S, becoming a chef isnt about fame ya twat. my sides are splitting.
@TheNextGordonRamsay look at my name, its my name given to me by my parents, next, i suggest u look at my basic youtube profile. I have worked 3 AA rossette and michelin star, next, ''next gordon ramsay'' is Marcus Eaves.....sorry to piss on yer bonfire,,,,,,u may be the next marcus eaves tho .....in your deams.
@muntario1982 If the fish you are buying has a strong fishy smell, tell the seller to take it off the shelf. It has been there to long. Your nose can tell.
@aNdYmAtTeR LOL. I do not get the concept of many environmentalasses that walk for saving the wild salmon and having a wild salmon barbeque at the end of the walk. Marketing at its best.
Something is going on here in CA, Coho and Sockeye are going for about $6.99/lb. This is wild, the farm raised is going for $8.99/lb. The wild king is $23.99?
I am taking advantage of this and haveing wild salmon at least 2wice a week.
Up to 41% of the salmon that Alaska exports has been raised in plastic trays, fed pellets, held in open net pens for up to 12 months, then released into the wild. Alaska farms up to 1.5 billion salmon each year to sustain their fake wild salmon fishery. Do we realy know what we are getting with a "Wild Packed Salmon" ?
The average yearly per capita intake of PCBs has been estimated to be about 30 nanograms from farmed salmon, 199 from pork, 306 from milk, 716 from poultry, and 2,401 from beef. When it comes to mercury, wild Alaskan halibut contains about 25 times as much as farmed salmon and tuna contains about 33 times as much! So if farmed salmon isn't high in contaminants, why do environmental organizations say that it is?
@Folkboat11 i never knew that about wild alaska salmon, i only try to not eat farmed raised fish, now i am just gonna cut out fish, since the bp oil spill.
what is pcb? and whatelse is not safe to eat, im turning into vegetarian bcuz i wanna eat healthy things
I have not had fish since I was a little kid . Tonight for dinner Im going to be making salmon, Thanks for this video, it helped me a lot, Now i know what to look for when buying and how to know when its cooked . thanks

@saahib2008 This is partly the fault of whoever recorded the sound. The level on the mic is so high that it's almost clipping, and there's tons of compression that makes it sound like she's almost yelling at you. If it was recorded better, you wouldn't have a headache. :)
