Russia did, indeed, report to the U.S. that Sadaam intended to harm us at his earliest opportunity, per the Senate Intelligence Committee's reports. General Powell, unfortunately, has stated a lot of conflicting things.

Obama wishes to "fundamentally transform" the only free country on Earth into a (governmet runs the people) instead of run BY the people governance style. @hellotommy I live in Belgium, and I feel pretty free. And I'm not being anti- American, I'm just stating that Americans don't have the monopoly on the free society. Here we can pick our representatives in a democratic way, and above that we have a linear method to count votes in a district, and not a winner-takes-it-all system.
About government control: even without one, people wouldn't be truely free. On the contrary. We get our liberty from our society, not from ourselfs.

@hellotommy Belgium's not that different then. We have no problem with the free market, but we say it needs regulation where the system leads to unwanted moral outcomes. The limit of the government sort of reflects the standard morals of our society.
And assuming God would give us our freedom, which is irrational to me, that moral judgement can never be a factual judgement. Factual judgements are made by people. The constituation of freedom exists through persons. A deity lacks that power.

@drummerponsi God just means "Individualism" from you perspective, meaning Americans have inalienable rights (Natural and legal rights) at birth. Life, Liberty and the pursuit (happiness, you're an individual with freewill and the government does not have the right to throw you under the bus. People of America are fighting for freedom, Marxist/Socialist loyalists infiltrated our gov. It is becoming tyrannical in America with Socialized Healthcare, unions and impossible to own a business.

Also, from a the perspective of political science I can't see how marxist infiltrated your country. Socialists perhaps, but I see this in a European sort of socialism, without the extreme leftist connotations I see many Americans give the term 'socialism'.
