Bess and G weren't friends. Bess was the viper that betrayed G in the worst way. She put on the guise of a tortured woman to gain her trust. She stood there and watched with joy when the Duke raped G. She watched with joy again when the Greys tried to kidnap poor Eliza from her mother's arms. Some great woman she was-NOT!
