  • Didn't know the Amuse S2000 was the same one used for Touge 280(Renamed 300 in Round 2) but the Amuse Carbon Hardtop, Volks CE28Ns and RE-01s are used back in Touge 280 but when 300 Round 3 was showed, '04 Rear Suspension Member was added(removing old one), Half Degree R1 Camber was added to the front, '04 Front Bumper with Amuse Lip(adding Downforce) was added and Gurney Flap on GT Wing

  • my gf has an mr-s and my buddy has an s2k, I driven both and been in both, the mr-s handles alot better, weight is center, sittn right behind ur ass lol, that things handles amaizingly.

    Probably cause it's lighter than the mk2 mr2 and they wanted to keep all the cars in the same age range for a fair comparesion.

  • ehh toyota could of done way better on the mr2 sypder. first off it doesnt have double wishbone suspension. 2nd, they could of put a more potential engine in it. going with a 1.8 2zz-ge to compete with the b18c motor from integra's was a mistake. when the last motor they made from the 3S-GE Beams w/ Dual VVT-i produced 207 bhp on the Altezza/IS200

  • @cypress101 I agree. The spyder is such a "what could have been" car, at the very least they could have put the 2zz in there from the factory. I still like the car despite all of that, it definitely needs a swap before anything. Damn Toyota for not giving this car justice.

  • @MindlessMiles If they put the 2zz in the car, it would have been in direct competition with Lotus, who uses the 2zz in the Elise. That's not good business for either party (Who share technology with eachother), so, unfortunately, it was saddled with an economy "F" engine instead of a performance "G" engine. In response, TRD did offer performance upgrades for it, like a supercharger, but it doesn't match that high revving feel of the spiritual sucessor to the 4AGE.

  • @Baronvontrap When the MR-S came out in '00, I don't think the 2nd gen Elises were using the 2ZZ until '04. I also don't think the Elise and MR-S would be in direct competition since they're at different price points, plus the Elise is far superior in almost every category. Makes sense to have the 2zz in the Celica, but why give it to the Corolla XRS and Matrix later on and not the Spyder?

  • you failed spelling. Torque does matter more on uphill, grip is necessary to get on top faster, thats why AWD will always have the advantage on Uphill, downhill are a bit advantageous for FR cars coz of the weight and less tire pressure.

  • when people talk about torque in cars. its just alot of power in the lower end of the engine revs.

    its torqy they often say. its true that then engine produces more torque easier low down but it doensnt mean you have more acceleration on uphills. a engine reving 10 000 and produces 200kw does accelerate as god as a engine with 200kw at 5000 rpm.

    torque and revs are different power is the same.

    formula for power (watt) -> KW= (Nm (torque) * RPM)/ 9550 (constant)

    so the car producing 200kw/10k rpm > 200kw/5k rpm

  • MR-S with S2000 engine would be ultimate

  • Though, it sounds great it wouldn't work out well. Since the engine of the MR-S is from an FF layout but mounted in the back, and the S2000's F20c engine spins in the opposite direction that FF an engine does.

    Perhaps a tuned K20 or H22 engine would be the other option. I think a tuning company from japan already did the k20 MR-S. I think I saw it in one of the other videos from GTchannel.

  • Someone that lives around me has a K20 MR-S. It looks pretty weird haha. But you can get a F20 into a MR-S with the right fabrication.

  • @gooey41 Though, a engine from a front-wheel drive car would be WAYYYYY easier since it is the same exact layout as a fwd (differential and axle wise) except the only difference is that its in the back of the driver. A f20 would be VERY hard to do, especially for the 30hp increase (might as well make a 250hp k20a) over a K series since the engine for a rwd is mounted front to back instead of side to side. Not tryin to start a war, just saying..
