I can remember going to my grandmothers and my older cousin bought this. My brother and I got Silverhawks (Quicksilver and Steelheart) and he insisted on putting them in it and sliming them, which we were angry about. When grandmom saw that it got slime everywhere she took it away and locked it in the trunk of her Oldsmobile!

Man, I LOVED this thing when I was a kid. G.I.Joes, He-Man figures, even my Star Wars toys were victims to the mighty Slime Pit. The stuff smelled horrible, and ruined virtually everything it touched, especially fabrics.

The only thing that could win the war against the mighty slime? Oxygen. I didn't seal the lid tightly one day, and it dried up over the weekend.

Needless to say, the Flaky Green Stuff Pit didn't strike fear into my toys anymore, so I gave it up.

80's slime was great. Remember the Mad Scientist kits? I also have the original Marvel Venom figures that has a black slime substance that squirts out. Also has a warning about it destroying carpet.....They ended up replacing that figure with water that shoots out instead. Wonder how much stuff in the 80's we were exposed would be rated today as blatantly toxic/cancerous. Still awesome memories!
