Designed in California. Made in China - and it costs HOW MUCH ?

Can't wait for the return of the fashion for labels on the outside of my clothing just to show everyone how much money I have wasted buying 'designer' stuff.
It's a shame! look at the price for a product made in china! It should be made in Denmark! I prefer buying a philips fidelio, ok it's also made in china but it cost $130 so for this price it couldn't be produce in Europe. If they want to create unemployment in Europe for making profits... good job!!! and enjoy the bad quality for highter prices.
How about everyone stops complaining about how this speaker by B&O is made in china and accept the fact that if they were produced crappily in china then B&O wouldn't produce them there. B&O make some bloody amazing speaker so just trust their judgement that their products made in china are just as good quality as their produces made in europe.

@BlindLightbulb well actually the gunpowder that was used in europe was invented by a monk in france.. he was german and called "schwarz" meaning black in english thats why its called black powder.. and also the egyptian papyrus existed a long time before the chinese paper was used in europe it therefore wasnt a totally revolutionairy invention which can be seen by the word paper which originates from papyrus.

this thing is incredible. Nothing comes close in terms of ipod docks. The only real competition are the geneva docks but it destroys the zeppelin. The sound is so rich and the bass is amazing from such a small unit. To fully understand how good it is, go to a B%O store with ur ipod/iphone/ipad and try it for yourself with your music. It sounds so much better than before. Im currenty waiting for mine as they are sold out for now in the UK. paid a 30% deposit :D
I bought the Beosound6 MP3-Player last year and now B&O release the Beosound8 which does not work with the Beosound6 MP3-Player!!! The Beosound only works with Ipods! What a joke!
@pungentfester YES! It will work with the BeoMP3. I have one too...you just have to hound them for the right cable. It looks like the one you use for TV connection only with a single head that fits the MP3. We're lucky to have a good B&O dealer (Pasadena, CA) and even they needed to give a different cord -- but they solved it. Hound them!

@dariuszdavies you didn't audition these did you, I tried harman kardon, bose, bowers & wilkins, logitec and many more (all ipod docks) this sounds much much better than all of those. its hard to justify 1000$ for someone who isn't that enthusiastic about music but for me it is worth it, I will try the GenevaSound which is 200$ more expensive than the bang and olufsen and then decide which to buy
Looks good B&O are up for it once again, good price too. Might look good next to my Beosound 9000, if does the 4000's can go next to the TV. Just had an invitation for the pre VAT preview weekend with interest free credit - why not? This is a Zeppelin buster in my eyes.

@ lolongo: Airplay is OK. You just need to add an Airport express and connect to the line input. And control it with your Ipad remote !!! Easy to use !
It's a beautiful speaker dock!! Great design....if this speaker will be nearly as good as my Harman Kardon Gla-55 speakers.... i will buy it for sure!
