Next time when i take elevator videos, I will use an 16GB 5th Gen iPod Nano! It has a video camera in it! It's very easey to hide! Some Simon Mall sucks! River Oaks Mall is not a great place. River Oaks Mall is ghetto! I never get caught by security gaurds!

What's the difference between hydraulic elevators and traction elevators?

Traction elevators have cables and counterweights while hydraulic have the plunger underneath the car like the old gas station garages that lifted the car into the air to work on it underneath.

Tractiona are faster and eco-friendly than hydraulic because hydraulic would need a machine room on the side of the elevator or the back of the elevator. Traction would either just have a closet on the side or a machine room on top of the elevator shaft.

They can't force you to delete video's. It is a photographers given RIGHT by law not to have to delete photos. But may ask you to leave. Unless like at Reedsburg Area Medical Center they ask you due to HIPPA regulations even though i did NOT film any of the patients they asked me to delete my vids. The lady was really nice though, and made me an appointment with the administraitor.

All malls have no photography rules (I don't know why its banned when you see the reasons on the Forum). But under US and UK law that is illegal holding you hostage.

Yes, it's a shame that the pride of the high rise buildings and the nostalgia of the historic building have been closed off to the public, but hopefully they will be reopened to public access, and the security color coding be lowered to blue or even green.

I agree about this whole terrorism thing. It sucks. It's so unfortunate that we can't get into a lot of the big office buildings in big cities anymore. It would have been so nice to be able to go in any office building in places like New York or Chicago and check out the elevators.

I got caught by a caretaker one time at Lougheed Town Centre in Burnaby, BC of taking videos of the main elevator. It's a Schindler Borehole Hydraulic Elevator and it's older. They didn't have the photographing prohibit signs on the entrances.
