Actually IF/WHEN Canada takes this game seriously we will dominate. We are a huge melting pot. We have great young players but no where to play so they stop playing. Not no more....give canada 4-8 years and watch. So may familes from all over the world come to canada and stay. I grew up playing with Chileans, Italians and Russians in canada. Dont under estimate a sleeping giant. We have nothing to prove and everything to gain.

they only pick 4 or 5 countries from north/south america, so canada has to fight with mexico, usa, chile, paraguay, brazil, argentina, etc...

@masterkung1231 Russia beat Canada in the IIHF, but that was during the NHL playoffs when many of the best canadian players were playing for their teams, and not for team canada in the IIHF. Also, players could choose to play for their coutnries in the IIHF tourney, and many successful Canadian players chose not to play. An interview after the game Russia vs Canada asked Ovie if the game was revenge for the olympics. He said no because the Best Canadian players werent playing.
