this was the first book i learned how to read on my own...brings back soooo many memories! i just bought this for my son the other day...kind of a tradition. lol
This brings back memories. In more recent times, I realize that they could use a pair of scissors...Or hedge clippers...But that wouldn't make for a book, now would it?
im doing a paper on how teaching children through music makes them remember things for a longer time period and honestly while i was listening to this i remembered every word and i haven't heard this since 4th grade at the latest and I'm now a senior in college. guess my topic works! =]
:D :D my children in my 3rd grade class love this story, thank you SO much for putting this up. "It's big and it's mine and it's stuck on a vine" I will play this for years to come. You made my job teaching so much more enjoyable, thank you secondsuburb you have restored my faith in humanity.
Oh gosh xDD lol...every year this teacher in my elementary school--when teachers would come around to class rooms and read to students--a teacher would read this when Halloween came around, and every year I looked forward to it!! XD Just recently I remembered a little of how it went and typed the lyrics in Google, and up came this video!! I'm so happy I found it again!! :DD Still my fave!! :DD
Thank you so much for posting this!! My tape died from overuse years ago & I have not been able to find a replacement. This story & song are so awesome!! I am happy I don't' have to try to sing the story myself anymore!! :)
One way to grow just one giant pumpkin on a vine, is to wait for one flower to grow into a green, baby pumpkin and then cut off all the other flowers on the vine. Then the vine will put all of it's energy into that single green baby pumpkin. I've tried this method before and it works wonderfully. I had one pumpkin last year that tipped the scale at a whopping 95 pounds, I made a jack-o-lantern with the Transformers Decepticon emblem on it.
@skeptocat what i would recommend is google "youtube to mp3" and use one of those sites to download the audio file. From there you could burn it to a cd with a program like itunes.
Sweet, sweet nostalgia. <3

Thanks for sharing, nevertheless.
