I simply love this song, when I first heard it on the gospel radio in Kansas City, I loved it immediatley, I didnt know the name of the song, but I knew it was Darryl Coley. It spoke to me in so many ways. When I started playing it, I had to play it over and over again until my spirit was full.
Amen! I had to shout! as I listened to this song. What a blessing and so true--Colossians 1:17--Jesus is the Giver every good and perfect gift, i.e. everlasting life.
@EnChristosEime4life hey thanks for that sripture on that I was wondering how to find that in the word I knew it was there thank you I will look that up.
WOW! memories! still love this whole CD to this day! My mom tried to get me to sing this song..dunno if i could have done it justice. Daryl is awesome!
wow. memories.. i was singing in the choir for this recording.. we had to start this song over like 4 times.. right when he would get in it good we'd have to start over for technical reasons. i will say everytime he sang the song it was delivered differently and more powerful than the time before. great artist. thanks for the memory!
@harlemdistinction I remember this recording too....was smack center in the audience in the Lodge Level (second level) of the Superdome...I was at SUNO for summer school and had a midterm (or it was a final) the next day......I left my mom and sisters there and went home at about midnight or so.....this was one of my favorites on the CD!!!!!!
@harlemdistinction I so enjoyed the recording of the album as well eventhough it took forever to get through the recording as a whole... but seeing this clip here does bring back the memories. That was my first time there and I haven't been back since *sad face*... I need this cd back in my life!
I consider this man to be the greatest male singer of his time. He's still pretty good but age has caught up with him. Now, I'd have to say the best male vocalist of this time would be Ton3x.
I love Marvin, and John. But they don't have the ability to hold notes and to reach the tenor pitches that Daryl and Ton3x have. Marvin and John's voices are better suited for fast paced songs that call for short phrase singing. Daryl can sing anything.
I was in the building the night of this recording. OMG!!! My how time just goes...I want to thank WHOMEVER posted this video. I am in a place right now in my life, and I needed this.. Thanks
Thank you thank you thank you for posting this!!! Been trying to find this on CD/mp3FOREVER. Couldn't! Now I can listen to it on youtube!! Bless you, my friend!
i've had the pleasure of workin with him and a few gospel greats and he is truly one of the nicest and genuine ppl its almost as if he isnt aware of the impact he has on so many ppl haha about the secular thing you have to realize that gospel becomes a business once you sign a contract and sometimes you do things in a business format that u normally wouldn't it doesn't mean ur not true to God although many are not but i can personally attest to Daryl's integrity also he's a gifted jazz artist
i just read your comment on daryl coley u posted about him not mixing secular with gospel. while you're right about him being an incredible artist( i've actually sang background 4 him and know him) he's the best. however, he has recorded with with many jazz and secular artists so he has "mixed" gospel/secular together. i wanted 2 inform because ur not aware of that but i definitely get your point he's not blatantly tryin to crossover and lose his gospel message so i agree w u
You are cool for putting this up on the tube, I was at the concert, this was at the Full Gospel Conference in New Orleans. He is by fare my favorite gospel singer.
Sorry it took so long for me to reply, but i think 1997-1998 this was a live recording for the album ,this was the Superdome. It was a song on the Full Gospel concert album. Bebe and Cece Winan was there also and few others i don't remember them all.
I'm a huge Daryl COley fan and I have never heard this.. but I type this only after I pick myself up off the floor. He is so amazing.. Lord thank you for such a wonderful gift.. Glory be to God!
Lol yea he did...I try to put up all I got of him because he is the one and only Bro. Daryl Coley. I got a few more ill be posting so keep looking out for them
I love this song another uplifting song to God be the Glory
