When I play the D chord, I usually mute the 5th and 6th strings with my thumb, so I can strum wihtout accidentally sounding them. Is this a good thing to do or not? Should I just learn to only hit the 4 necessary strings?

2nd song DESIRE ... use Dsus2 instead of D - just leave the bottom string open

also after playing the E once then go back to A then to E again ... or use Esus4 instead of A ... gives the song that extra jump to it like how the edge plays it :)
