It's interesting to think that this is the same year that Kate Winslet started filming for 'Titanic'. She looks so much better now as she's gotten slightly older; apparently during filming of 'Sense & Sensibility', Emma Thompson strove to break Kate away from her eating disorder which left her skinny and anaemic, which you can really see in the film.

Being a huge admirer of Kate from the very beginning, I always had a weakness for S&S, a true masterpiece, and I'm so happy now, years later, to finally see Kate winning all the possible awards for her unbelievable performance in The Reader ! She was incredibly overwhelmed/shocked because she had been nominated 7 times, not yet winning. And the Golden Globes, they say, helps with your Oscar chances (she's never won an Oscar either), so it was all so new. The GG and Oscars are the biggest Award shows in the entertainmnt industry, to my knowledge. Hope that helps.
